Hi! I'm planning to buy a car. Im 19 years old, student. Driving everyday from Parañaque to Katipunan.

    My budget is around 250k

Gusto ko sana Vios 1.3E '06 because of the fuel efficiency.

kaso nag aalangan ako kasi sabi nila TAXI.

Can you guys suggest a car na around 250k budget.

    Thanks!

Pakshet yung mga tao na nagsasabi na wag ka bumili kasi mukhang taxi... Baket ano ba kotse nila

Ok yung vios pero ang mura nya sa 250k parang 2000 corolla lovelife range lang yan

The Vios is a reliable and no frills car, which is why it became the pick of taxi companies. Cab drivers would want a fuel efficient and worry free car, and the Vios suits the bill. This is a good thing, actually. But, 250k will normally only get you a battered, base spec Vios. I'd suggest you look elsewhere also. Consider the Honda City Type-Z. It's got more horses than the Vios, and you can get one in pretty good condition for your budget. Or, you can get a Ford Lynx. Manual only, of course. Matic Lynx's are heavy drinkers. Napakaporma neto and you get lots of features along with good performance.

Wow! So presyong pangkaibigan ba yan? 2006 pa naman, kunin mo na! As long as you're sure about the condition of your neighbor's Vios at alam mong di niya nilalaspag yan that is.

For 300k, other options I'd suggest are: Nissan Sentra 1.6M/T, Ford Escape M/T, Ford Lynx M/T, Honda Civic VTEC3 and some earlier Ford Focus units.

BTT: for a budget of 250k, you can already have Honda Civic Dimension (yung mga 2001 - 2004 civic) VTi-s, 1998 - 2000 Honda CRV MT (1st Gen CRV), Nissan Sentra.

Kung 1.6L yung Mazda 3, malakas po sa gas iyon at mahina pa humatak.

The thing with Mazdas is that they have lower resale values compared to the tried and tested Toyotas and Hondas. Assuming that's the 1.6L Mazda3, you'd definitely feel the heft of the car due to the lower power-to-weight ratio versus a 1.3 Vios. The 1.6L automatic tranny isn't also geared for fuel saving in mind favoring higher revs before upshifting. For a practical choice, the Vios would take home the trophy. But I'd go for the Mazda as long as it is well-maintained and isn't a lemon. Why? Timeless looks and immense satisfaction behind the wheel.

bro if your budget can lean up to 500 or so.. you can maybe hit up a jazz 08 model as it was awarded most fuel efficient sub-compact car... and its also bad ass:-) but if not... forget the other people saying mukang taxi... basta ba hindi mo pipinturahan ng boysen na white lalagyan ng taxi sign sa taas at lalagyan ng metro sa loob hindi taxi yan... everybody has their own identity in their own cars... kya yun vios is fine bro but if you can jazz would be the next option:-) goodluck!!:-)

i'd get the vios if i were in your shoes. e ano kung mukhang taxi? e, 'di mag-sideline ka sa mga kaklase mo! kumita ka pa! heh heh.
isipin mo: matipid, reliable performance, maraming piyesa, at maraming mekanikong marunong gumawa.
what other car in the price range, can openly boast of these features?
as i have many times before said: "are you gonna ride it, or are you gonna join it in a beauty contest?"

GO for a Vios E over the J as it has ABS. But in the end, go for the one in the best condition you can find.

Dami kong friends dati na Paranaque to Katipunan everyday, back in college but they usually would carpool.
