    Question lang mga sir.

Sa approx. 200k budget tempting ang ford focus 2005-2007 as a learners car. Kaso stay away na dapat ba from the mere mention of Ford DCT? anong year ba sakop yun DCT sa atin sa Pinas? Or better stick na lang to a similarly priced corolla lovelife or civic dimension 2000-2001?

    Thanks.

200k can get you a 1st gen Vios, or an Altis. I'd prefer that, not only for the reliability but for the parts considering that you'd be buying >10 year old car.

Only the diesel Focus uses the DCT. The gasoline engined variants still use the old 4AT.

The Focus model 2013-2015 (after the TDCi model) with the 1.6L and 2.0L NA gas engines used the dry-type DCT like the one on the Fiesta and EcoSport. The Focus TDCi used a wet-clutch DCT. The Focus Ecoboost (2016-current) uses a traditional 6-speed AT tranny already.

The TS said he was looking at 2005-2007 models. And then again, I think the TDCi was only available with a manual at that time.

*TS: Are you strictly looking for automatics only?

The Focus TDCi MT was only a limited release, only 2007 to 2008. Much like the Civic FD 2.0L MT. Most Focus TDCi MTs are now sold for just over 200k in the used market.

Altis na lang. Mas maluwag at matibay.. pasok pa sa budget na 200k.. beware lang sa sludging issue.

    Thanks sa lahat ng sumagot.

Yes, AT only. baby altis/lovelife lang ang pasok sa budget. Decent next gen. corolla altis' start at 260-270k na plus factor pa unexpected repairs after purchase .

Will look into vioses kun may papasok sa budget and how it compares to baby altis corolla in terms of power and space.

    I prefer N16 Sentra/Exalta over the AE111.
