Hello, long time lurker here. its time for me to buy a new car I've read lots of threads about various cars.

My main requirement is the car with the best ride comfort and isolation from outside noise.

Max Budget is 1.4m cheaper is better though(can't go higher)

So far here's a shorlist of cars that I'm considering

    Altis 1.6V
    Xtrail 2.0 AT(max budget)
    Forester 2.0L(max budget)
    MU-X LS-A 4x2(max budget)

For those who own or has driven these car, whats your recommendation? I'm also open to other options(but no pick-ups, It's too long of a car for me)

If comfort and NVH as only basis, just focus on gas-fed, sedan type vehicles. Altis has pretty good NVH. Check Nissan Sylphy also

Definitely the Camry 2.5G if you can find it with a discount. SRP is 1.45m

Not sure if your max budget is 1.35 or 1.4 as stated in the thread title and the post.

Either way, it's worth looking at.

if you want comfort and isolation, mid size is the way to go. for 1.4M you can go:
    Camry
Sonata base (although the new one is coming out next week, you might want to wait for it, or go for the older one with bigger discounts)
Optima (should be under 1.4M with discounts)

among your choices, it should be the altis. siguro rin okay yung comfort and NVH isolation ng MU-X (pag naka-garahe na at patay ang makina).

I agree. Midsize sedan mas swak sa requirement. Altima or camry. For sure may discounts pa yan para umabot 1.4m

Thanks for the reply guys but I prefer japanese brands and 1.4m is really my limit. I can't add anymore. lets remove mid-size cars(out of budget)

Between compact SUV or Small sedans which is best for ride and comfort?

if you agree to slightly pre-owned, your budget can get you a camry or an accord.. with some to spare..

No need for pre-owned, the base Camry or Sonata would be more than comfortable than those Altis and SUVs given a 1.4M budget. Will be be under 1.4M? Depends on discounts but yes, it should slot in your budget range.

    Kung sa sedan,

2.5 G Camry, wide body frame feature for safety in-case of collision, All the safety features equipped + the 2.5 engine is off balance sa power to weight ratio. sulit for a sedan.

    CUV,

Subaru Forester/XV, never po ako nakapag-drive or passenger mode, pero yung AWD features for traction control, bang for buck na! + the safety features, and yung ground clearance, hindi masyado mataas, para sumakay o bumaba for a certain passenger(s), lalo pag senior citizen. pero enough para maglagpasan yung mga medium flooded area in-case na magkaroon ng bad weather.

You want absolute ride comfort in the price range without driving a boat, you're looking at the Subaru XV or possibly the CX-5 2.0 (specifically with the smaller wheel combo.). Long suspension stroke, low body, thus, supple ride without the roly-poly feeling.

Haven't done the Sportage or Tucson recently. I recall the Tucson having a nice ride as long as you don't get one with big wheels (poor wheel control when you have heavy mags), and the Sportage is on the slightly stiff side.

If you're okay with body roll, there's a lot to choose from... the Grand i10 is awesome in all ways. The Mirage is soft-riding, but NVH is not great and it feels a bit wayward at speed.

Good word for the Ertiga, too.

Compact cars... Civic 1.8, last I tried it... City with the 15" wheels (16" is okay... better, at least, than the Vios... which is actually okay too)... Sylphy 1.6 (1.8 has low profile tires)... haven't tried the new Corolla. Focus 1.6 is a heavy car, which makes it ride a bit like a Merc if you don't have the bigger wheels. Mazda3 1.5 is nice, as well.

    Basically... everything.

But still, Subaru XV takes the cake, for me.

Have you asked how much discounts they're giving for the base Camry?

It's still your best bet in terms of ride comfort so unless it's absolutely out of your budget, it should top your list.

The Altis is fine but even if it's a comfy ride it still doesn't feel anywhere as plush as a Camry. The low seating position in the rear and the high beltline makes you feel like you're sitting inside a box rather than in an airy living room. Still cheaper than any comfy CUV though so if you're really hoping to spend the least, get an Altis.

Hello there. You should try the subaru xv. Our family has one and you'll have the "sakay mayaman" feel. Very smooth and quiet, its very comfortable. The subaru xv's entry model will only cost you 1.298m. Its the best buy!

Kung NVH, Camry talaga panalo. From what I've tried (previous gen) its like a floating coccoon. The engine is barely heard let alone felt, especially from the backseat.

Throw in your list the new 2015 Mitsubishi ASX. After discount, the cost of the GSR model is 1.198M
