Its more practical and more fuel efficient. Or you can get the 1.8L and then do some minor mods to reach 2.0L power levels. Maybe you might even save a bit by doing that. Pero I suggest also that you wait for the all new Elantra this coming MIAS before making your decision.

If fuel economy is not your concern get the 2.0, if FC is the main concern the 1.8 A/T is not the best candidate.

The fiesta is the freshest of the lot with lots of standard items on the 1.6, although ave. fc ng mga fiesta 1.6 owners is 8km/l as per fiesta fc thread is not really astonishing, I was expecting around 10 km/l. Or maybe their break-in period isn't over yet? the're maybe hope yet

How about the Jazz it's just been facelifted...

The Fiesta's FC isn't spectacular nga.

I'm getting 8-9KM/L traffic only driving with the Civic 1.8 A/T.

No need to get the 2.0L unless you absolutely need the extra power.

    Other differences:
    - Turn signals on the side mirrors instead of the fenders
    - Nice looking 17" rims
    - Leather seats
    - Auto climate control

Not worth the price difference IMO.

Coming from a civic owner, you might want to wait for the upcoming releases. The current civic is going to be replaced late this year, plus there are incoming new models din within late this year or next - the Elantra (as mentioned), the new Mazda3 and the new Focus.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. I guess kung 1.8 or 2.0 civic lang mas ok na nga 1.8 since FC is important to me. With the traffic here in Metro Manila you seldom get to really take advantage of that extra umph 2.0 gives. I'll definately keep an eye out for the new civic, elantra, focus, and mazda 3 now that you mentioned it. The Jazz was one of my top choices also but the price I think for the 1.5 is way too much for a subcompact car. Thanks po uli!

The 1.8S is more than enough to suffice your needs.

Yeah. They had VSA and 4 airbags. Then they removed it for the 2009s para hindi na tumaas presyo ng 2.0L.

I love Hondas, but HCPI is making it difficult to justify getting the top of the line models with their pricing :/

I think this boils down to how much longer you're willing to wait.

    Civic - Late 2011 or 2012
    Elantra - Mid/Late 2011
    Focus - 2012
    Mazda3 - Late 2011/2012

If you need a car now, then you need a car now.

Or you can check Grand Livina. Good power and fuel efficient as well.

Add ko lang I just found out today iyon 1.8 and 2.0 P80,000 lang ang difference. Sabihin na natin both brand new. Iyon 1.8 regular white, iyon 2.0 pearl white. Ok din talaga antayin iyon new civic. Salamat uli.

They also removed the 6 disc changer, hood and trunk heat insulator, hydrophilic side mirror lens.

Sayang talaga, kaya kung bibili ulit kami ng FD, used 2.0S-L sana.

+1 on this. Luma na yung Civic FD. Surprisingly, the 2.0V is more efficient than the 1.6V because of the 7-Speed CVT-i and ACIS.

VSA = Vehicle Stability Assist. Honda Accord 2.4S & 3.5S-V at CR-V 2.4S-X nalang meron VSA ngayon.

Mazda really took their time arriving on our shores. If it arrived in 2010, it should have cooked up a big storm on the compact car segment.

So far, having high hopes for the Hyundai Elantra. I wouldn't mind "younger bros" roaming around the streets

Between the two Honda variants, I'd pick 1.8S. It's the sweet spot.

we're also thinking of getting the civic, but still torn between 1.8 and 2.0

btw, what's the FC difference between the 1.8 and 2.0?

    maraming salamat po

Hi Will probably get the car around next week. * sir ANC sorry for the late reply. Iyon Civic na kukunin ko will actually be second hand. As for FC what people are saying is the 1.8 is the model to go for. Especially kung sa metro manila ka most of the time. The 2.0 in traffic will be less efficient than the 1.8 in traffic. 95% of the time sa traffic ako mag drive.

As most of the other people advised me also if you're not in a rush to get a new car I would wait till the new models come out. For me the new civic, focus and elantra are the most interesting (not in that order). Hope I was able to help.

If 2.0 kunin mo, get the Pearl White 2007, early 2008 2.0S-L model.
Fuel economy? I've owned a 1.8 and a 2.0 FD before, I can safely say that they are ALMOST the same on economy driving. Pero pag medyo mabigat paa mo, the 2.0 definitely guzzles more fuel compared sa 1.8.

Kung konti lang price difference ng pinag-pipilian mo, I'd suggest the 2.0S-L.

Climate Control, Leather Seats w/ SRS Airbag, and the VSA that I really appreciate during track use.

Lagyan mo din ng Injen SRI or an AEM SRI and it should sound like a K20A Type R but of course without the VTC.
