these new ppvs.. wala pa gaano info about longetivity. but safe to say pickup based suvs are built for long use.
timing chains and cleaner diesel. both 2.4 will last if properly maintained.
both rear suspensions are similar. multilinks with a damper/shock. double wishbone fronts..same lng naman..
both are selling well. resale and spare parts should be easier to find for both
fort has a not appealing front though(for me lng). the top portion and the bottom portion just do not jive. will it age well? i dont know
the monteros front is good. the rear tail lights..not so much.
if these two are the only suvs for sale. id get the montero. cheaper too

Hi Crosswind.
Thank you for your opinion. Yes I also find the Fortuner overpriced. Lesser feature compared to the Montero. But believe it or not I find the lesser feature of the Fortuner a strength on leaning towards it.
No fancy electronic stuff and what not for me means less to worry about on breakage. (Innova E vs G, ill always take E!)
But then again, I have always decided on simple things. So at this age of mine I do want to go against myself so am gathering opinion here about the Montero
As for the Isuzu Mux, We already bought one last year 2.5 AT and it is really a wonder.
If we don't own one now this certainly would be the top choice or no other choice at all.

Hi Monseratto,
Thanks for photos. Space when seats are folded will be a serious point for consideration. There are certain times I need to load my KTM Mountain Bike inside for safety reason. The Fortuners 3rd row that hangs up sideways seems very spacious. If it can take the bike easily without much fuzz then this maybe the choice. Though I still have to measure both cars for this.

May 19th, 2017 11:20 AM #18If the brand doesn't affect your decision, definitely go for montero. But if it plays a big role, then consider Fortuner, as its after sales is more reliable.

May 19th, 2017 02:11 PM #19Having own 2015 montero. My vote go to fortuner. Both are good but you can really appreciate toyota in the long run had many problems with my montero and for my 2014 ford everest still on sale even though i slash the price almost 60%. Its a matter of your preferences when choosing cars.
