I think what you want is a car you can call your own and to be used by relatives and not for economic reasons.

    Here's the mathematics to that.
You will bring home a GLS. Cash out: Php638K

    Some estimates (to be corrected).
Take Viper's depreciation rate and you will loss 65K in a year
    Insurance cost: 20K?
    PMS: 15K?
    Registration: 3K?
    Tire: 2K?

At the end of the first year, you have lost around Php105K. Plus, since you will not use the car for nine months, the money you put in there basically sleeps. Worst is, your car's value will go down again with the same rate as the first year and the PMS cost will go higher.

If you are smart enough, you should have invested the Php500K and you may double it in 9 months time.

Anyway, just an idea. The Mirage is nice. Wifey should have brought home a GLS last year but I offered her a 6 year old Grand Vitara. She grabbed the older car and she's very happy with it. The only maintenance on the old car so far is a change oil and wheel alignment.

    Good luck.

Kung kotse para makapunta from point A to point B

    Kung nagtitipid - get alto

Kahit gaano mo pinagkakatiwalaan yung iiwanan mo ng kotse, one way or another may magiging issue jan..

Minsan its just a matter of sharing with the family..

Mag rent a car ka nalang kung kelan mo lang kelangan not the whole 3 mos...

Mahirap ipag katiwala auto kahit kamag anak o kahit kapatid pa.

Just an insight of a reality.

Alto standard owner here.. if budget permits, all new vios gets my vote, then mirage and ciempre alto.. If simpleng pang ikot ikot lang sa probinsya, alto would be sufficient. Pero kung mostly highway travel, vios and mirage would be safer dahil sa safety features, more comfortable and space.. sa fuel consumption hindi lang masyado nagkakalayo..

Pero, on provincial higghways, definitely in the 12-14 range, just a little less than the Vios 1.5.

For me, avanza would be a more practical choice. You can carry more luggage or things, very helpful and convenient espcially when you bring baby/kids stuff. In my experience, a car's trunk is not enough when you bring the stroller, toys, your own bags plus the yaya's in a long trip.

The vios is definitely a good choice also. You can't go wrong when you choose this car. I'd choose this over the mirage, actually. But again, considering that you are in the province and go for trips during your vacation, the avanzavfor me, would be more practical choice.

As of now + c Avanza, ika nga sabi nyo po praticality dahil sa space nya.

To give you an idea, vios 1.3g MT worst fc ko is 10.5kpl and best fc ko so far is 15.5kpl. Etong 15.5kpl ko work to office lang str8 daang hari lang to northgate from molino.

By the way, tingin ko mas okay kung hindi nabibilad kotse sa araw parang napapanis gas ko eh.

Worst FC ko sa Vios 7km/L. 1.3MT. Pero "trackday-mode" ika nga. Redline shifting... Hirap pag may kaconvoy na FXT. Hehe.

    Best sa city around 12

Regular (not engine-off coasting or drafting two feet behind a bus) highway driving at 80 km/h:

    Vios 1.3/1.5 - 20-21 km/l
    Mirage MT: 24-26 km/l
    Alto 800 MT: 29+++ km/l.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I have this gut feeling TS will end up buying neither of the 2.
