Which mid-size suv?

Explorer? A bit sporty on the handling side, but too soft for my tastes. Plus the brakes on the new one really suck... very squishy. Good space and great comfort at about 0.5 million less than the rest, though. One weird thing is, even with the space, it feels like driving a missile turret... the hood is very high and the roofline square, so you're looking out of a slot of a windscreen that's not much bigger than a Jeepney's... ...but don't take my word for it, test-drive, first.

I usually don't recommend American Ford SUVs... lots of problems when they get old... low resale value... but the Explorer doesn't seem as problematic as the Expedition, at least. I do enjoy riding in and driving my Uncle's 4x4 Eddie Bauer Explorer (great drive), but I don't think I'd spend my money on one brand new.
