Are you referring to the Sentra GS/GSX/GX (N16 platform)? It has been there since initially introduced with the Grandeur series (2002). It is a comfort-oriented platform and a bit on the heavy side. It is a good highway cruiser, more like the Altis of that era. Go for the 1.6L models (GS with 4AT or GSX with 5MT) as the 1.3L GX model felt sluggish with no advantage in fuel efficiency. There was the Sentra 200 (B16 platform) but it did not gain that much sales locally.

The Focus is a sportier platform compared to the Sentra. It shares a common platform as the Mazda3 and Volvo C30 of that age. Its size is a bit on the small side compared to other compacts. The hatchback is quite athletic and offers good driving response. It is best to get the 2.0L version as models with the smaller engine do not offer an advantage in fuel economy. A 2.0L turbo diesel MT model (TDCI) was introduced in 2007 on the same platform.

Sir not the hatchback the sedan type lang ng ford focus ghina. Nalita ko lz mjo mas maganda interior nya compared to nissan n16 models. I'm just thinking that focus has more resale value and sportier look nga as you've said than the gsx n16's.

Though mas spacious ang sentra pero I think the focus 4 door sedan type is much appealing.

i still fondly remember my first tryst into cars.. 'twas a ford escort..
unlike toyota back then... they wouldn't sell parts.. they wanted to sell me the entire assembly.
i hope things have changed... but then again, what can we do with today's electronic cars?

because the market demand is not as much as the more popular model cars.
even in its heydey, it did not attract as many admirers as the others.
it should not be misconstrued as a defective car. just... not in demand.
then you extend the small number and the non-demand, to the consequent difficulty in getting parts and expertise..

I own a ford focus 07 hb 2.0. Parts are not abundant and mostly quite pricey. Fuel consumption is not its strong point. But this car looks good and accelerates good. Handling is very sharp.

I just dont like the electrical issues due to battery clamps. Replaced my battery thrice in a span of 2 yrs. Madaling mag-corrode yun terminals at significant yun voltage drop. Akala mo bumigay na yun battery, mahal pa naman ng din44. Regular cleaning should be done sa battery clamps to avoid electrical issues

for used car buyers, manual transmission generally promises less headaches than automatics, po. it's the nature of the beast.
i've always wondered how the almera will stack up compared to the sentras of olde. visit the almera thread here, po.
