    Hi Tsikoters!

I am really torn between these 2 cars, both has exactly the same price, the G4 around 628k and the Vios at around 630k. And also to give a detailed look on what I like with those to cars:

    Mirage G4 GLS MT:
    1. Interior Look:
    Push Start
    Keyless Entry with alarm
    GPS
    All Power
    ABS
    2. Mas matipid sa Vios
    3. 55k worth of accessories

    Vios J MT:
    1. Exterior Look
    2. 4 cylinder engine (meaning potential for engine mods compare to g4's 3 cylinder)

To sum it up, I am torn between the luxury of a top of the line variant(more on interior) or the exterior look of a Vios with basic interior, but has a potential for future mods, although G4 also has its potential when it comes to exterior looks, but let's face it, mas pogi sa labas ang Vios compare to G4. So my question mga tsikoters, I you were to choose which one will you buy? And if there are any points that I missed regarding the specs of those cars, you can give some inputs. BTW, the J variant I was referring to is not the base model, I saw a J variant which is a power with and has foglamps.

Vios ako dito without a doubt, the added amenities of the Mirage can never compensate for the 4 cylinder engine of the Vios. Except for the side mirrors, all power na rin ang Vios J.

The toys you get with the Mirage can be added on to the Vios later. The Vios feels more stable around corners and at high speeds.

The Mirage is lighter and should get better mileage.

Big factor ang 4 cylinder ng vios pag madalas ka mag-highway/provincial driving. Pag puro city driving naman, more than enough na ang g4

If only Mitsubishi stuffed a 4 banger in the Mirage, serious contender yan.

    But they did not.

So majority, OK lang i-sacrifice yung luxury ng top of the line such as: KOS, ABS, Push start, Climate control etc. (yung mga tipo ng accessories na hindi basta basta nailalagay sa car) para sa 4 cylinder engine at exterior looks? My current ride is a lancer 1995 model, the 'EL' variant which means 'all pawis' kaya siguro malaking bagay sakin sa bagong car ung mga yun, although cyempre gusto ko rin naman ang engine mods in the near future, nalilito pa rin talaga ako. anymore input guys?

Test drive both. Luxurious lang ang Mirage in terms of toys. When you hit the craters they call roads baka magbago pa opinion mo

I usually put my phone on the passenger's seat when I drive alone. It stays put when I corner in the Vios. Using the Mirage on the same corner at the same speed lipad na si cell hahanapin ko na sa ilalim ng jack.

My '95 Lancer, even with its busted bushings and shocks, still drove and rode better than either the Mirage or the Vios

    Vios all the Way!
    Why?
    1.seating capacity
    2.luggage/compartment
    3.reliable vvti engine(Chain Driven)+optional aftermarket turbocharger kit
    4.power/torque-4 passengers 4cylinder vs 4 passengers 3 cylinder=almost same fuel consumption
    5.Toyota engines,if properly maintained.can easily surpass the 500,000kms(ODOMETER) w/o overhauling.
6.Parts-toyota parts available everywhere in the philippines.
7.Watch the coming VIOS CUP to be held this month at BGC.
My sister in law has a mirage(hatch a/t).not that fuel efficient as they advertise.and you can hear even the slightest sound outside/road when driving.its still your choice...

Based on the price of the G4 you posted, P628 is for the GLX CVT, if this is the right one you are referring to, then this is not equipped with those interior features.

If all power, safety and standard features hanap mo, why not include the Honda Amaze? It's in the same price range. Although I don't like the fact na the base model has steel rims, but this can be easily fixed

Some dealers in sulit offers G4 GLS MT for 628k, also has a free 55k worth of accessories.

Sa looks kasi nya parang mas maliit pa sa g4. I'm really torn between the looks of the vios vs the features of a G4 GLS. hirap mgdecide.

Lesser toys = lesser headaches in the long run.

Kung Mirage hatch vs Vios, dun ako sa Mirage. Cheaper to buy and more efficient, plus looks better and has more toys. I don't need the space since hindi naman ako araw araw magsasakay ng 5.

But if it's the G4 sedan vs. the Vios, Vios nalang. Di ko trip itsura ng G4 eh.

Pa bump naman po dito. Yesterday po kasi pumunta ako sa toyota at mitsubishi na malapit sa amin. Then inoferan ako ng agent ng vios E with 55k discount. So malamang mgvvios na ako. Pero what bothers me is the fuel consumption of this car. I think I already red all articles regarding FC, but I didn't get any consistent answer. Some articles say around 7 to 8km/l, others say it is under power that why it affects the FC, I also red the Baguio eco run of g4 and vios and they both did great. I wonder if that is achieveable in a real world driving conditon. And anyone here have a first hand experience reagarding the fuel consumption of Vios E MT?

    I did a solo eco-run for the Aero-Vios articles.
The Aero-Vios Experiment (Part 2): Did our hard work pay off? | TopGear.com.ph

The Vios 1.3 can do around 20-22 in straight highway running at 80 km/h. The Mirage 1.2 and Swift 1.2 both eclipse it (I've seen 26+ from the Mirage), but both are much smaller cars.

In traffic... can't say. The Vios 1.3 has no economy gauge, and I never did a tank-to-tank measure in the city.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

And I thought I already read all of the articles regarding the fuel consumption of vios. Thank you Sir Niky for the link. I think I would definitely consider Vios now. Given my daily route would be 70% highway.

    My take on the matter...

TS, you mentioned in your previous post na galing ka sa Lancer EL 1.3. Try comparing your previous cars specs with your new choices. That way you can come up with a better decision on what to buy. As for fuel efficiency, it the driver that will be the biggest contributing factor. Noting your route, It would be best to keep the speed between 80-88 km/h in the nlex(or at least between 2.5-3 rpm for the cars of your choice). IMHO, that would be a realistic speed to meet your traveling demands. Unless you want to keep it at the min nlex speed and adjust your schedule for the sake of saving gas money.
