i still think its a looker even compared with the new FD series Civic.
powerplant shortcomings shall be addressed if Mazda would just consider bringing the 2.0L VVT 150hp with 5speed AT here.

Still looks like a good ride. Qurious already how its resale value will hold up after around 4-5yrs, versus Toyotas and Hondas.

there was an ad in manila bulletin last week, a used 2.0R for P770T. P970T ba ang brand new?Originally Posted by Autobeat
i bet its still not as Honda/Toyota high but will not be as low as Mazdas of yore...
my guess after 5 years it would be one of the most desireable 2nd hand car in market
So mga owners
Kamusta ang cost of ownership?
Ang dealers? Mababait ba or parang CASA na ng honda at toyota? May mga mangagantso na ba sa loob?
you're right about the 3 being the most desirable 2nd hand car in the near futureOriginally Posted by MAXBUWAYA
regarding the service sa casa, its still topnotch (casa serviced kasi lahat ng oto namin-mitsu, toyota, honda, ford so this is based on experience), problem is mazda is still in the process of building its reputation so the question is: can mazda maintain or retain its current service quality?
sa teamrage may nagpost ng nov 2004 mazda3 1.6.. 9tkm 620k ang benta...
Hmmm... market's still adjusting. But if people are biting at those prices, then that bodes well for the Mazda's resale value.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I recall one of last year's showcar mazda3's got offers for nearly 1M. Pero di pa rin binenta nung may ari.
When I test drove the 3 1.6(since there was no test unit for the 3r), you have to rev it up to get that 105hp. I was'nt as much impressed after driving it. interior space is kinda cramped. But overall it was an 'ok' car. In the end I ended up with a diesel pickupinstead.
baka torque ang hinahanap mo...kasi wala namang kotse na hindi kailangan i rev high para makuha yung "max" hp rating nila eh...
Yes, but the 1.6 AT isn't really all that keen to rev, especially with the heavy gearbox.
My cousin loves his 1.6 to death, but he admits you need to plan your overtakes well.
A manual gearbox would really have cured all these problems.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Seems just fine with me... although I drive 100% activematic, does your cousin do the same?
Just to check how different I drive with activematic, than it is with full auto on the 3... I occasionally check by putting the stick back to D... usually when I'm 2, the AT would be in 1, when I'm in 2, AT would be at 4... * 1.5k - 2.5k rpm lang naman ako madalas eh. But the 1st gear can be taken to 5.5k if you really have to...
For highway speed overtaking daw. Around town yata, it's okay. I'll ask him when I see him.
He used to be mild mannered as a driver, though... but after he got that, medyo 140 na rin ang takbo niya... I guess it's enough power for him.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
hmmm..i agree with niky. the 1.6 definitely needs a m/t. . sobrang daming comments about the 1.6l's power and response. heck even my finance prof na walang ka-alam alam sa kotse umaangal. hehehe
Well, it's also in the manual...so it bugs me that many so called 3 owners haven't picked up on it.
