sir kaya po ginagawa ito ay iniiwasan po namen na sabihin nga na demo unit ung ibibigay namen sa customer. ini inform nman po namen na the unit that we demo nung monday is un na din ung ide deliver nung thursday. kung ayaw nman nang ganun nung customer kukuha kame ng bagong stock sa HARI.
Why not just explain to the customer that the Km in the odometer is because you had to drive it to their house. If it's disconnected doesn't the customer ask you why the odometer isn't moving when they are test driving the unit? If you let me test drive a car without a working odometer I would be very suspicious of the vehicle and the actual Km reading on the odometer.
Haaay... Toyota and Isuzu delivery... with Innovas, Fortuners and Alterras racing at 120-140 km/h up the South Super Highway on their way to Manila. Wonderful way to break in "green" engines, huh?
I can't honestly comment on whether your fuel consumption is bad or not. If your Innova is an automatic and you're driving in Makati-level traffic, it's possibly quite normal. But with the odometer and speedometer non-functional, how can you tell?
Also, the trip-meter and fuel consumption computer isn't completely accurate, as it gauges transient fuel consumption. Press all the way down on the gas and it'll go way down. Coast to a stop and it'll hit 20 km/l. The only accurate way to tell is to calculate gas usage from tank to tank, with knowledge of the actual distance travelled.
I've never heard of disconnected odometers on Toyotas before... on Hyundais, sometimes, but not often.
tama si sir niky, only a few manufacturers have car carriers. And most of the brand new cars grabe ihataw sa south superhiway, sometimes i just shake my head and pity those people at the receiving end of those vehicles. Cars are pretty expensive nowadays and yung iba nga todo kayod para lang makabili ng brand new car. Malamang yung innova na nabili and passed on as "brand new" ay shuttle ng mga staff or worse yun ang dinidisplay sa mga malls as demo units. Saan mo ba nakuha yung unit mo?
Its very bad to know that you have been deceived and your brand new unit has been drive-tested by a number of people already. Tsk-tsk. Saving all that hard-earned money thinking about the honor and prestige that you'll be the first ever on its seat.
So, better pala kung sa Batangas Dealers kumuha kasi they're shipping all of these cars/vans/suv's to the Batangas City Port? Agapan na kaagad, di ba?![]()
ganito lang yan eh, sa dami ng SM Malls including Greenhills, Ayala, Robinson and others, tapos maglalagay ang Toyota/Hyundai/Honda/Suzuki etc ng demo units sa bawat mall na ito ... that's more than 10 malls, hence more than 10 demo units sabay-sabay
for 1.5M per car, that's 15M worth of demo unit na automatically become as "used" category. highly doubt that dealers can afford such a move ...
so whether we like or not, some of us are driving cars that were once demo units. usually, the demo unit might be the cleanest car in the inventory hehehe no way of knowing, just pray or keep your fingers crossed ...
basta dont do unto others o wag masyado metikoloso, you'll be fine.
Sir, can you post your dealer branch para di na bumili ibang tsikoters dun.
Cash ba to sir or hulugan?
Did you try to take your complain to Toyota main in Sta Rosa?
What if the potential buyer changes his/her mind at magdecide na ibang color or model and kuhanin? Then the TRUE mileage of the car won't be known to its eventual owner kse inalis nyo connection sa odometer. In short, the odometer won't reflect the true mileage of the car. Di ba panloloko sa consumers yan?![]()
if its a demo/test drive unit then the dealer should mark it as so, and give a discount to the customer. Now its up to the customer if they want to get the car or not.
AFAIK demo units are LTO registered and with plate numbers. Well taht was what i noticed when I bought my 06 civic. They have a separate demo car. When my car was delviered the odometer reading was 77 kms. 129 kms is not high for a brand new car. toyota has a test track where in they drive the car as hard as race car drivers para kung may deffect man ay lumabas agad.
Regarding your fuel consumption, kung matic yan and your route is around metromanila I think its normal. Try to drive it sa highway and compute the fuel consumption by using the old school method. Full tank mo sagad sa takip then reset the trip meter. gamitin for around 100 to 200 kms. then pa full tank ulit sagad sa takip ulit. Trip meter reading divided by the number of liters na naikarga on your 2nd karga you get a more accurate value.
Kung manual yan mejo malakas nga, since my office mate gets 9-10 kms/L combided city and hiway driving. He has a m/t 2.0 vvti

77 kms on a brand new car? That's quite alot and to think Honda uses car carriers to transport their vehicles from the plant to the dealers.
Got my Toyota from the Ortigas dealer and the mileage was 55 kms. Keep in mind, this unit came from Thailand and all. Toyota does not seem to use car carriers.
Got my civic * honda fairview, delivered to my house in pasig. I always thought normal yun since our other previous purchases nasa 50 to 100 kms ang odometer upon delivery.
When I got my Fortuner from the dealer kinabukasan ko na lang napansin na ung speedometer and odo was not functioning so I got back to the dealer and connected it underneath the unit and resetted the computer. Didnt bother to ask why I just know that they drive it from the plant to the dealership and so disconnecting it would not accumulate mileage. Nakakasabay ko minsan mga convoy of brand new cars with no plates from Sta. Rosa north bound from different car companies sa SLEX especially on Sundays. As I was reading this thread Ive come to think if my unit was a demo but when I inspected my unit when it was released and noticed that it was not used cause the tires are new, matting are clean, no hand prints everyhere, foot prints arent visible on the sides of the door which usually are soiled during my PMS at the dealership sputtered with grease. And the last thing that came to my mind that it wasnt a demo unit because my dealer doesnt cater test drives (for all I know).
100 kms of highway driving won't destroy tires, or gather enough wear to mark the tires, unless you hit debris. But for all we know, there's a couple of sets of tires rotating around just for deliveries, so that showroom vehicles receive pristine tires for the dealership floor.
I received my Ford with 40 kms on it. 30 of those were from the test drive we performed before signing the papers for the sale. Needless to say, those were very happy kilometers.![]()
