The Lancer EX CVT is not sluggish (well, from a dead stop, it acts like any other A/T). Once rolling, the CVT is just as fast as the M/T. Niky and I had the opportunity to drive the GTA and GT variants back-to-back and chased each other around the test drive area. Both cars are just as fast.

The reason why the CVT feels sluggish is the smoother delivery of power from the CVT. I can attest to this since my other car (a Corolla) uses a traditional A/T and power delivery from the CVT feels very different. Smooth with no transitions for each "gear' since there is no gears. With the Lancer EX CVT, the engine just revs up to a certain RPM level and stays there while the speed increases (along with the tranny CVT ratio).

I'd take the GT-A. well, it's kinda difficult to choose. my one point goes to the GT-A.

    Curb Weight:
    EX GTA = 1,385 kg
    ASX GLS = 1,375 kg

    Engine power:
    EX GTA = 155hp/199Nm
    ASX GLS = 150hp/197Nm

how about the Hyundai Tucson 2.0L Theta II GLS 2WD sir? 1,158,000 siya di hamak na mas mura kaysa sa ASX at tingin ko eh mas ayos din.

di lang siguro talaga ako fan ng ASX, pero kung 2 choices lang talaga sa EX nalang ako

My vote goes to the ASX since I like the higher ride height and the bigger cargo area when the need arises. And since it's a CUV, it looks more expensive than a sedan. hehe

I suggest you start your own thread regarding Mitsubishi's pricing & marketing instead of hijacking this thread.

In fact I have moved your comments and related replies to:

Although I like the Forester, it's way back in the back of "other options" for me simply because of the look/styling.

But I feel the real-life scenario of having a EX GLS and GT-A quite weird. Even I would opt for a "change" and get the ASX.

Bilis Sir GH, Honda CR-V nalang epitome of practicality. More or less same price, workable cargo space, good suspension (I like it actually) at the expense of it looking like a bull dog vs a canine retriever.

Assume I don't have the EX GLS.

So the choice is having a EX GT-A or the ASX GLS.
