Yes I'm back and thanks to Ondoy hindi natuloy ang aming purchase last year. Ipinagpaliban na muna and ngayong June malamang sa malamang bibili na kami. Dapat after12years na username ko. =)).
Anyway, it's down to the two. Features-wise, medyo pareho sila kasi power stuff na rin yung sa Vios 1.3J. FC-wise, definitely sa Vios. Now I just don't know kung worth it yung 39k price difference. Pasok pa rin naman yung Lancer sa budget na 650k after factoring in the discounts na inooffer ng dealer (10 months na hindi pa rin nagbabago hahaha).
I would really appreciate your inputs and I'd like to thank you in advance. This will most definitely help my parents. Again, thanks! :D

May 30th, 2010 01:44 AM #2Are you sure na all-powered na yung Vios J? Ang alam ko power steering lang ang Vios J. Baka you're referring to the Vios E.

May 30th, 2010 10:21 AM #5Depende sayo yan sir kung ano mas importante sayo, features-wise syempre mas lamang talaga ang Lancer. Bigger engine, dual disc brakes, dual airbags, keyless entry and alarm, 195/15 wheels. Pero sobrang magastos alam ko sa FC itong Lancer na ito. And I know the build quality / feel and ride isn't too good. Yun ang complaint ng isang kakilala ko sa kanyang A/T Lancer Cedia GLS (and also from what I have read in the internet).
Sa Vios naman, medyo kulang ang features, but if you're a practical person, very liveable yung mga kulang nya. Disc/drum setup is not too bad naman. The bigger wheels means a more expensive maintenance when its time for you to replace them. You can always use your key to open the car... tsaka mabilis at di naman ganon kamahal magpakabit ng alarm. The main advantage is sobrang tipid ng sa gas. I'm doing no less than 12.5km/l in 100% city driving now on a Gen 1 1.3 (pero mga 10.5km/l lang sya nung bago sya). Yung kakilala ko, she's doing only 6-7 km/l on an A/T CVT Lancer Cedia (maybe a +1km/l advantage to the manual). Lower maintenance and operating costs in the long run. Ride quality-wise, I don't have complaints naman on my Gen 1 except for its seats which I find a little uncomfortable when driving long distances.
If it were me, Vios J ako. That's just because I'm more on the practical side and I won't care if my car is being used as taxis here. Marami kasing ayaw kumuha ng Vios J simply for that reason only.

May 30th, 2010 10:28 AM #6mas malaki at mabigat ang body ng lancer tapos bigger engine pa so expect FC will be higher compared to vios.. pero sa tingin ko mas spacious ang lancer compared sa vios at isa pa hindi ko trip yung center mounted instrument panel nakakairita kasi mapaptingin ka sa harap looking for the instrument panel at magtataka bakit nawala... tapos maaalala mo vios nga pala yung car mo sabay tingin sa gitna..

Vios ako. Mas fresh looks compared sa Cedia. Palit rims, foglights at keyless entry magpalagay ka tapos the rest is stock maganda na yan

May 30th, 2010 11:54 AM #9Thanks for the really comprehensive explanation! It really helped. Medyo katakotakot yung FC ng Lancer so I'm kinda more inclined to the Vios nowadays. We don't really care if it's a taxi car or something, in fact it's some sort of bonus kasi at least tried and tested ang reliability niya.
Anyway, another concern is that baka hindi kaya ng Vios yung mga medyo matitinding paakyat, and long drives. Although it will be primarily used for city driving, ito na rin ang gagamitin namin for rare weekend outings to places like Pansol and all that. I guess kaya pa naman. Pero baka iuwi rin kasi namin to Bicol yung sasakyan. Kaya kaya ng Vios yung ganun katinding biyahe? Kahit sino po pwede sumagot. Thanks!
