6 years...... That would be close to the time frame the original Hyundai Santa Fe first came out. Back here, I too never considered a Hyundai until I first saw the Tucson.
New-Generation Model years:
2004 Tucson
2006 Sonata and Accent
2007 Santa Fe, Azera, Elantra, Veracruz
The banks here had no such policy; at least our banks, anyway.

December 20th, 2007 01:12 AM #32Yup, every suv's can compare Hyudai Sta Fe especially the 2008 model but the Isuzu Alterra can not do competition with the later;
The 2008 Sta Fe competitors:
2008
Nissan Murano
Mitsubishi Outlander
Buick Enclave
Saturn Vue
GMC Envoy
Subaru Tribega
Toyota Highlander
Ford Explorer
Chevy Equinox
Dodge Nitro
Mazda CX-9
Suzuki XL 7
...sorry no Isuzu Alterra found...source? google it...Last edited by jeffrocks; December 20th, 2007 at 01:15 AM.

OT
I'd take the Ford Explorer out. It's not a crossover SUV plus it's much bigger now. I'd sub the Ford Edge and maybe even the Escape which was also was a crossover (and also the original RAV 4).
But, that list does show the crossover SUV category is becoming as tough as the midsize sedan category.

December 21st, 2007 05:58 PM #37Hindi na puwede eh. Simply dahil ayaw ko. Imagine, had I bought a new Gen 3 Starex CRDi 4x4 a year ago, mas mura at maraming features pa kesa sa Gen 4?!? Kaya nga maluwag na SUV tinitignan ko din eh. At least mas madaming safety features para sa driver-driven family car namin.

Alam kong wala sa choices mo pero why not consider the 4x2 2.5L everest? It's only about 1.2M at meron pang promo yung A/T (baka pasok sa budget mo). It has good 3rd row sitting space as well. It's reliable, powerful, and fuel efficient. Ride is okay (my kids prefer riding in the 3rd row seats at hindi nagsusuka even in long drives). Madali lang magpalagay ng headrest sa 3rd row seats. It has 2 front passenger airbags, abs with ebd, rear lsd as safety features.
Syempre, talo siya sa santa fe sa styling.

December 21st, 2007 07:21 PM #39For me, I will only buy the Alterra for its fuel efficiency! Or else, I'll get the Sta. Fe!
