It might be a mini---literally. But im sure it's fighting for the same class where the VW Bug is competing... Wherever that may be... ;)

It's small in terms of interior space, but pricewise, it competes with the top-end compacts.

Well according to wikipedia the BMW MINI is categorized as a supermini/hothatch that also means a subcompact

Wikipedia is the devil! It's a supermini in terms of space, but in terms of pricing, it's best to compare it to cars you can get at a similar price.

Kinda pointless comparing it with the likes of the Swift or Jazz, considering it costs about twice as much here (if you're lucky) and over 2 million pesos in Cooper S form.

much like the Supermini Suzuki Swift... size-wise, it really is small. But locally, in pricing, power, features and target market, it competes with Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris, both subcompacts.

When I was younger, I probably would've automatically picked the AWD cars (Subie, Evo).

But, now that I'm paying for a house and will soon have another daughter.... I have to consider price tag and ease of maintenance relative to performance. That means FWD.

MazdaSpeed3 for me unless any of the other hatches have a non-turbo engine.
