October 24th, 2011 10:47 PM #1Initially was choosing between a 2004 accord and 2004 escape but thanks to the guys here got to know about the downside of the accord 2.0 2004 model. I'm now down to choosing between 2001 CRV and 2004 escape. CRV is at P300,000 while the escape cost P 20,000 more. Which would you choose and why? Thanks in advance.

October 25th, 2011 12:45 AM #2Oh my, not the first gen CRV! Its the most normal looking CRV among the three generations, but its known to be a big time guzzler. B20B non-VTEC engine is not short on power but having standard AWD and the A/T makes it give disastrous gas mileage. Between the two, Escape parin. Its more powerful, newer and has more durable suspension components.

October 25th, 2011 01:16 PM #3I'd choose the Escape. Ours is already at 119k km. But we plan to sell it next year since it's 7 years already.

October 25th, 2011 03:48 PM #4may 2.3 na escape na ba nung 2004? the 2.0 ones are underpowered and have really bad fuel mileage. if you can add a bit more to your budget, baka mag 2nd gen crv ka na lang. the m/t version gives pretty decent fuel economy (mine used to average 8-9 km/l). sold mine for around 400k last year so should be cheaper now

October 25th, 2011 06:30 PM #6Onga~ Make sure yung Escape na kinukuha mo ay ang 2.3L version ah! The 2.0L is indeed underpowered, yun yung amin eh. If it is the 2.0L version, manual dapat. Ang laki ng performance difference between the manual and automatic versions of the 2.0L Escape.
Bakit kaya pinalitan yung ecu? Hindi kaya nasangkot yan dati sa baha?
