February 12th, 2010 04:13 PM #1Patanong po ito ng friend ko..
Which is better/bang for the buck:
1st Gen Toyota Vios or 4th Gen Honda City
in terms of affordability (+/- 350k budget)
Fuel Efficiency
Ride Comfort
Maintenance in the long run (considering it would be around 6 years na yung mga cars na yan). (i.e. honda high quality parts vs toyota cheap/affordable and easy to find parts)
Best Regards,

Asking price is relevant depende sa vehicle and of course sa demand...
I am not sure kung angat sya sa lahat maybe angat lang City sa FC especially kung CVT version pero may malaking caveat ang CVT, mahal sya sobra kung nasira man!

It`s the Toyota Vios that I pick. ;)
Aside from it`s proven reliability, maintenance is cheaper.
The CVT Transmission gives you better fuel consumption that the usual A/T`s but also there had been problems already and is still occuring. ( sir suysuy is experiencing this. ) Quite expensive to fix, actually.

in terms of parts, pareho lang yung toyota and honda. slight difference lang na mas mahal yung sa honda.

Err, diba Gen. 3 ang present model ng City?
The 1st gen (Type Z model) came out between 1997-2003
2nd gen (CVT 7-speed/at model) came out between 2004-2008
3rd gen (iVtec 5-speed/at model) came out sometime June 2009
Anyway, to answer the TS, I'd take the 2nd gen city (used to own a 1.5 CVT) anytime and it was a pretty good daily driver.

^Oh, I see.
Well, I don't think the first two were ever sold in the Philippine market. Anyway, good luck with the selection.
