December 11th, 2007 10:24 PM #5a friend of mine from australia tested the navarra and based on his findings,it sure has a lot of torque, but yuo have to get used to shifting to get it into higher speed, as for his observation, the nissan navara is equipped with lower final drive ratio thus needing 6 spd manual trannytends to give yuo more torque as what we have done on a 2wd 2.5 fortuner with 20 inch tires, weve regeared it and tested it on a dyno ,it yields a 420nm of torque at the rear wheels, ..they even tested the navarra against the 2.5 strada sprint in a 1/4 mile, the strada beat the navarra..dont know why with all the power, finally as for the dmax.. it has the best value for yuor money as isuzu is tested on their diesel technology,it has even build engines for the gm brand diesels in the us..ranger classic boxy type european concept, quit powerful engine with low end torque ,which is great for acceleration..toyota? hope it will leave up to its name,as far as the old hilux durability,it is made in thailand, same as the other pic ups..but for all those who wants to get their pic ups customized from tuning parts to underchassis..toyota has more aftermarket products, becuase it shares almost the same as the acoma and 4 runnner underchassis and suspension..

Quote: "In our laden 0 to 100kmh acceleration run, we were all surprised when we saw the time on the stopwatch for the ute with the most torque: 17.3 seconds, the slowest of the six utes tested. To be sure, we repeated the test, this time changing gears at 3500rpm instead of 4000rpm and squeezed a 16.7-second time."
"It was a telling exercise. Instantly we discovered why Nissan has fitted a six-speed to the Navara: to compensate for its narrow power band. Six ratios ensures you can find the perfect cog once on the move"

"The Triton's power and torque figures (118kW and 347Nm) were the envy of rivals not so long ago, now they're average. The Triton is no slouch though. In our laden 0 to 100kmh acceleration test, the Triton posted a time of 14 seconds, making it comfortably the briskest of the four-door diesel 4WDs. The downside is that the Mitsubishi engine is a little louder and more rattly than the others but it is supposed to be a work ute after all."

Oops, di pala kasama ang Strada sa choices.
