The Beetle is the easiest. 20k can get you a semi-running or non-running Lancer or Corolla , but not much else... a Datsun 510 would cost you the better part of 100k for a runner... even a semi-running Escort is around 50k pesos (a non-runner maybe around 20k... 30k for one needing lots and lots of work)...
After that, you have to consider how much has to be done. If you want to restore it to original condition, try finding one with complete chrome trim and lights... otherwise you will spend a ton of money looking for NOS (new old stock) parts from abroad. To go from your basic 10k car to a "fair" condition restored one would cost you around 100k total... to go to "show" condition, maybe another 50-100k.
Pero nasa iyo lang yan... you can do it fast or slow... these projects don't happen overnight. Just buy the car, spend 50k to get it into fairly good running condition, and enjoy it as you build up the funds for a good restoration.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
