been in your shoes last month, and the Vios won. instead of 1.3E, we got the 1.3G instead to get the 1.5 mags and foggies.
The Kia's interior is really panalo! kaso, this will be a keeper na car, so the T-badge overshadowed all the pro's of the Rio.

Stay away from Kia Rio until they resolve its mileage problem.

    Same same.

Around June we were choosing between the Vios & the Accent MT. We got the Vios eventually since it's going to be a keeper for around 7-10 years I guess.

If you really want the Rio, get the 1.2LX MT. Pretty efficient, might lack the punch but a really good-looking point a to point b vehicle.

Unit I got was a 1.3E MT since the 1.3G doesn't have a manual version.

    Cheers.

No love for the Mazda 2 1.3S?

No FC or quality issues unlike the Rio, and just as frugal as the Vios, but has much more character. Palitan lang yung steel rims okay na. Only downside is space, but it can still fit 3 in the back plus some groceries in the cargo area.

if rio ka yun 1.2 lx nalang matakaw daw sa gas yun 1.4 hindi daw makatarungan lalo na yun HB version

If you're looking at entry-level cars, the one with cheaper running cost and easier replacement parts availability is the most reasonable option. I'd get the Vios.

kia rio 1.4 sedan 6speed manual owner here, first 2000 kms malakas sa gas, after nagnormalize na,
5-7kms/L Short distance heavy traffic and subdivisions (about 8kms back and fort for 1 hour)
    8kms/L -heavy traffic,
    10kms/L moderate traffic,
12kms/L walang traffic just normal stop and go sa traffic lights,

agree ako dito sa post ni jpabuel. im a proud owner of a kia rio 1.4mt, came from 1.3e vios mt.

medyo disappointing at first 500km ang fc but now ave. 8-9km/l na city driving

honestly in terms of fc vios 1.3 pa din sa city driving. highway kia rio winds because of it's 6-speed transmission. but design, quality, and features hands down maganda ang rio. and parati may napapalingon

For me I would still go for a Vios in terms of maintenance and fc. Not so sure about rio's resale value but i would really like to find out.

pati pala FC ng Rio M/T eh issue. kala ko A/T lang

baka ECU problem, just like in Accent?

baka algo eh pang 1.2L or 1.6L, hindi pang 1.4L (adopted lang)?

a comment on the "captivating" 5 year warranty:
if you don't like it, then don't bring your car back to the casa after the third year.. no big deal.
