November 23rd, 2017 11:15 PM #1Hello! I'm on the market for a brand new subcompact/crossover. I'm currently driving a sedan and it's definitely time to replace it especially due to safety concerns. Sulit na sulit na siya kasi 90's model pa, and bothered na kami na baka tumirik na lang siya bigla soon.
Anyway, I'm eyeing either the Honda BR-V or the newly-introduced Suzuki Vitara. Medyo mataas na kukunin ko para iwas baha at iwas sabit. Some preliminary pros for each car:
BR-V: 7-seater capacity, higher ground clearance at 201 mm (vs ~180 for Vitara)
Vitara: Cruise control, sunroof, slightly better specs, slightly cheaper
If you were in my position, which would you pick? Inputs from owners of either vehicles would be amazing.
Maraming salamat!

November 24th, 2017 12:17 AM #2Looks-wise mas ok sakin yung vitara na mukhang crossover unlike the BRV na undecided if crossover or ppv or suv hehe. I just dont know about the specs and availability of parts for the vitara. But i think vitara wouldn't be a bad choice.

November 24th, 2017 12:31 AM #5Both r good vehicle, walang tapon gaya nga ng sabi nila. Between the 2 models mas ok sa akin si Vitara. But if ur looking for a more than 5 seating capacity,BRV naman.

November 24th, 2017 01:03 AM #6seems like you don't need 7 seats coz you're considering the vitara in which case you probably don't need the extra space on the BR-V. a shorter vehicle does have its benefits in everyday driving: easier to park etc.
between the brv's CVT and vitara's 6spd slushbox i'd go w/ the slushbox
don't read too much into the "ground clearance" in the spec sheet. in real-world city driving you're more likely to scrape the bottom of the front bumper so do compare that aspect instead
oh btw brv is slightly narrower than ecosport. vitara is slightly wider than ecosport

November 24th, 2017 12:34 PM #7para sa kin BRV is not a SUV. nilagyan yan lang ng black plastic trims sa wheel arc para magmukang SUV,
it's not SUV it's mPV aka the mobilio raised.
so Vitara GLX all the way hihihi

November 24th, 2017 05:56 PM #8Haha yeah you got me there. I really don't need the two extra seats, it just feels like a nice add-on feature. Quite impressive rin for a car of that size and price, though I agree that It makes it a bit awkwardly long.
Thanks for the tips! I'm sorta leaning towards the Vitara for now.

November 27th, 2017 11:08 AM #9Hello! Pano kung di agad lumabas yun car this year eh di tatamaan na tayo? hayy.. Also, pano performance ng vitara since bago sa market? This is the risk we will take if finally Vitara na ang mapili.

Pustahan tayo hindi tataas ng Jan 1 ang presyo ng kotse. 😉
Car companies are feeding on the fear of buyers that current prices are "limited offers" and that prices will increase in 1 month. Truth is, like anything that passes through government, you can expect vehicle excise tax implementation to be delayed.
So wag ka magpapressure. 😂

According to scotty kilmer, more manufacturers are embracing the CVT in their line-up because it is...
