December 28th, 2011 09:11 AM #1Help choose a car CRV or Adventure or APV or Avanza?
patulong po sir
ito po kasi pagpipilian
1. mitsubishi adventure gs sport 2.0L automatic (white) all stock, in good condition 250k last price, good a/c , power steering, windows, 3 row seats
2. honda crv 99 model 1st gen automatic 2.0L (either white or green) all stock, in very good condition, 265k last price, good a/c, 2 row seats but big trunk space when folded down, and a little bit sossy look than revo or adventure
3. toyota avanza 08 model 360k 1.3j 3 row seats, champagne color, all stock, in good condition, good a/c, newer model, but this is the most basic in terms of trim, etc kasi j model
all are around 60-70k kms mileage
all i can afford is a 50% dp for (1) and (2) and around 30% dp for (3), kaya ko lang nasa 120-130k max na dp mas ok nga kung maliit lang, and 7k plus na bayarin monthly max of 2-3 yrs
kasi medyo old na ung units (1) and (2) , galing sa dealers, baka 50%dp, and 24mos to pay, ung (3) naman e personal owned so ako pa mismo hahanap ng financing dito kung meron man
4 last choice is APV GA MT ung pinakabasic na APV 2011-12 model nasa 28k dp at 14,900 mo for 60mos, or 38k dp at 14090 mo for 60mos, plus almost 26k na comprehensive insurance for the next 4 yrs, so suma tutal aabot ng 900k ++ kasi packaged with TV, etc, pero GA to so its Manual and basic trim ung parang truck plus doble presyo ng car insurance nito
ito pa consideration
a. babae magdridrive (misis ko)
b, maaring ibenta ko din after 3 to 6 years
e. (akin lang to) siempre ung kaya ng bulsa at mura bayaran kasi ako magbabayad
+ meron ding ibang choices pero medyo di na nasa shortlist
a. serena (parang mahal parts nito)
b. ung mini van ng chevrolet (pero V6 ito )
c. revo (pero medyo di namin sya gusto)
other info
used 2yrs to pay vs bnew 5 yrs to pay
comprehensive insurance of second hand around 11k needed only for 2 yrs vs bnew comprehensive around 26k needed for 5 yrs
used 120-130k dp vs bnew 28 to 38k dp
total cash out after everything fully paid
crv and adventure around 310-320k so interest paid is around 40-50k max
for avanza i dont know yet hahanap pa ko ng mag aaprove
for apv a 550k bnew unit will cost me almost 1 million after 5 yrs
ung adventure and crv mga top of the line models un na automatic, ung avanza at ung apv un ung mga basic models lowest of the line

I'd go with the newest which is either the Avanza. Less headaches, just do some servicing and it's good to go.
Forget about the Serena and Chevy Venture as these will eat up your cash in service, fuel and repairs.

I have a Revo, a GSX 2.0L EFi in particular. And in terms of space, it's pretty much similar with the Adventure.
A relative of mine also has a 2000 Honda CR-V, it rides well. But it gulps fuel, not as worse as the 2nd gen ( 02-06 ) but you get the point.
Though the newest, I find the Avanza too basic. If I remember it right, 1.3J Avanza's come in manual only. So given 2 choices that are automatics, I would definitely pick the first two than the last for the sole reason of I would want to be more comfortable when driving.
It's a toss up between the CR-V and the Adventure. Have your wife sit on the driver's side, probably let her take the car on few spins too and let her decide which of two would she prefer. I like the CR-V though. I think it's shorter, and it's good in terms of appearance.

December 28th, 2011 02:19 PM #8I vote for APV lalo na kung may budget ka to sustain for 5yrs financing!
Cargo capacity is better, at di pa worry Mrs mo pag drive for the hassle versus sa second hand.

CR-V or Avanza G for me.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else... Driven To Thrill!
i wonder, are the usual published suspension adjustment specifications supposed to be adjusted...
