October 17th, 2012 01:40 AM #1Ano mas okay sa dalawa? I just checked both units today and we are inclining towards the Starex. Here are some points me and my wife arrived with upon comparing the two.
1. Mas maganda interior ng Starex. The seats from the Grandia GL is a bit off for me.
2. Malaki ang Grandia. Can seat up to 11 people with still room sa likod.
3. Engine location favored Starex.
4. Medyo natataasan ako papasok sa driver side ng Grandia.
5. The price for Starex is much more wallet friendly.
Di na namin kinonsider and Super Grandia because of the price at insurance cost.
Hindi namin siya everyday car. Malamang mga once a week lang siya lalabas ng garahe. We just need a big vehicle pag lalabas kami. Wala rin kaming driver so ako din mag drive neto.
Pero gusto ko muna marinig mga point of view from onwers/experts of these two vans. TIA!

October 17th, 2012 04:44 AM #3Yung balak namin is yung 12s. For the price, medyo mas mahal yung CRDI ng Starex compare to the Grandia GL. Cieling ko na yung price ng Grandia.
I like the Grandia kasi malaki but I like the Starex because of its interior pero oks ba yung TCi na engine? Is it the same engine of as the previous Gen?
Di nga ako makatulog kasi iniisip ko yung dalawa e. Hahaha.

For personal use and if you're not going to max out the seating capacity most of the time, i'd go with the Starex. Power of this and the Grandia on paper is just about the same. I doubt you can test drive a Grandia GL but at least for the Starex, do a test drive.
We have a Grandia GL and one complaint a lot give is that it's not too comfortable for long trips.

GS,- dina-drive ko iyan once a week sa office... At tuwing weekends with the family..... Comfortable sa biyahe...
TCi engine,- I've been using Hyundai's for the past 8 years (5 years sa Gen3 Starex- up to about 48TKm and then ibinenta ko na; then, 3 years sa GS - about 17.5TKm now),- so far, walang problema...
Iyong Grandia,- D4D(CRDi) iyon di ba?

October 24th, 2012 02:47 PM #8GS got the edge. mas ok ang ride ng GS compared to Hi-ace. Power is adequate.
TCi is quite easy to maintain rather than the hi-tech CRDi.
GS has the advantage over Hi--ace when it comes to PMS cost.
Looks is subjective.
