FORTUNER 3.0V or RAV4 2006?

were havin a hard time decidin what to get. na delay na fortuner namin cuz we opted to wait for the RAV4... now nman naisip namin what if its more expensive than the 3.0V fortuner??? balik nanaman kme fortuner??

should we get na the fortuner next week or wait nlg for the RAV4 06? (no price yet, rumored to be priced bet 1.4-1.6m..)

and one thing nga pla, our dealer requires us to get an accessory from them.. (fortuner) if ever dvd system (50k) dunno nga lng if ganun din sa rav4 na..

AFAIK, Japan CBU does not exempt it from poor quality or workmanship. Current RAV4 are Japan CBU and some units are problematic.

Back to the Topic,

I'd still get the Fortuner anytime.
+Higher ride height which is good for casual off-roading and floods
+3.0 D4-D more suitable for off-roading
+Its Looks
+Best Value - overall package

The 2006 Rav4 reminds me too much of the previous gen RAV4, which I never liked.

IMO...

only get the Fortuner if you put space above else... and if you want to rough it out with its 4L equipped 4WD and higher ground clearance.

but the Rav4 (well... still based on paper), will theoretically outperform the Fortuner on the road and the interior is very modern too (like the current one)... though the looks in the pictures don't really look so hot... so we'll just have to wait for the real deal to come out.

i think its better kung nakalabas na yung actual unit ng RAV4 so we can compare it. Anyway, according to glntvr, he saw 5 new gen rav4s in magallanes this afternoon.

RAV4 means driving an SUV with fun... the new RAV4 still doesn't disappoint in the handling department as reviews on the net said.

On the Fortuner, you get a truck. Plus interior really looks cheap and unsophisticated when compared to RAV4's smart and sleek details. Dami pang nagkalat sa daan na fortuner. So if you have acquired a more refined taste for what your hands can feel, go RAV4. But if it's all eyes or plain utility, go Fortuner.

I'm having the exact same problem. Hindi din ako makapili between the Fortuner and the 2006 RAV4. Pantay sila overall, IMHO.

The best thing to do is wait for the 2006 RAV4 muna, then compare them side-to-side.


EDIT: In my opinion.... The Fortuner looks more macho, but then again, the 2006 RAV4 isn't as 'cute' as the previous (RAV4) model. Yung previous RAV4 kasi borders on the girly side, whereas the 2006 model looks a lot more masculine (than before).

hmm..kung halos same price lang siya with the fortuner, i'd get the rav4 para maiba naman..although ang hate ko lang sa rav4 is its so cramped inside..ang laki tingnan sa labas pero pag nasa loob ka na..ang sikip
