Actually, a 4x2 should be able to traverse that, so that would save you around 200K on the 4x2 option instead of 4x4 option on the MS. As for maintenance, there should be very little difference in the maintenance cost of a 4x4 versus 4x2 of the same vehicle model if you don't use the 4x4 option often, though since I've never owned both a 4x4 and 4x2 versions of the same model, I am not 100% sure on this.
