Ford Focus Diesel or Gas? 2nd hand with a budget of 500k+

Hi sirs! nagtitingin ako ng sasakyan na second hand, my preference is diesel talaga, pero some of my friends tell me na mas maganda pa mag gas. I had my eyes on a second hand focus tdci, pero dahil nga sa sabi ng mga kaibigan ko, medyo napagiisip ako.

plus ano pa ba ang ibang maisusuggest nyo na sasakyan with a budget of 500k? this'll be my first car kaya parang gusto ko sana yung with "umf/power". and manual trans, my wife wants to learn to drive manual din kasi, pag nag start daw kasi sya ng auto, baka di na sya matuto, hehe.

medyo malakas yung Focus na 1.8 --- nasa 6-7kms. per liter

yung 1.6 nasa 10kms. per liter----

how bout sir yung maintenance on the long run? kasi kung maganda naman sya, hindi na kailangan ibenta at palitan, kesa na lang kung matanda na talaga.

I have to agree on both of you, yan talaga yung hanap ko, 6 speed manual tran.

maintenance kung casa sir handa ka ng 7K every 5k kms... for regular preventive maintenance.... change oil etc...

Kung gusto mo simple lang. Yung Accent ko, very minimal maintenance. CRDi unit. Napaka tipid sa diesel at manual transmission. Very strong resale too for a Hyundai. Pasok pa sa budget. Dont expect fun to drive due to handling, spanking straight line performance though. :D

no, i meant an Accent like mine. not my car hahaha! sorry for the confusion. Not particularly great, pero OK naman for a commute car, matulin at matipid naman. Can't have it all. hehehe ;)

I would rather go for the Ford Focus TDCi with powershift (automatic). But this will be at least P600K and up.

Syempre yung diesel! Never mind what they say.

Napakalayo in terms of performance and gas mileage. Kahit kapag parehong 2.0L, the diesel will smoke the gas and still drink lesser fuel. Maintenance? sa dami ng naipon mo from gas savings, it shouldn't sting too much. Besides, paminsan-minsan lang naman ang maintenance eh. Besides, it will all be very much worth it.
