Chevy Silverado din ang gusto ko, eh. Hehehe. For no apparent reason lang. Brand preference siguro.
Saka mas mukhang pang-promdi ang Silverado.

sa off-road IMO may edge ang F-150, it has higher approach angle, and higher ground clearance.

yes there are available, sa shocks naka kabit na kami ng bilstein sa F-150. and im sure may available din na bilstein para sa silverado. Rancho has shocks also for both, as well as trailmaster. these are the shocks that i know are available locally. pero if you order sa labas marami pa avail.
sa lift kit there are lots of them, but i dont know if somebody sells locally. but we ordered one time a lift kit na Rancho for the silverado mga 4" or 3" suspension lift yata i forgot na it was almost 2 years na, and the silverado looked great. it had 16x 10 rims with dunlop mudtires. total cost was in the area of 100k plus install.

explorer,
the IIHS and NHTSA tests are very different in nature and so should not be taken to be the same (you can't say that the NHTSA test is more indicative than the IIHS one and vice-versa). the IIHS test is an offset frontal barrier test, while the NHTSA test is a full frontal barrier test.
the IIHS test is more difficult for the vehicles because only half the frontal area of the vehicle impacts the barrier. on the other hand, the NHTSA test is easier to pass because the force is spread over a larger area (the entire frontal area of the vehicle), the structural integrity of the vehicle is thus a greater factor in the IIHS test than in the NHTSA test.
as far as i know, the NHTSA test is a federal requirement before vehicles may be put on sale on the market. on the other hand, the IIHS test is organized by insurance companies and is not a federal requirement, however, the test itself is very valid and applicable to real-world crash safety (not all frontal crashes are full frontal ones). so, because passing the NHTSA test is generally a given already, it makes more sense to scrutinize the IIHS results.
btw, i think the left half of the nose of vandolph's F-150 ran into a delivery truck that was stopped by the road... this simulates the IIHS test where the stopped truck is effectively a static barrier...
