Civic LX - 1.5L carb
City - 1.3L, not sure kung efi or carb eh.

to answer iriver's question, i would have to recommend the honda city (biased ba, hehehe) why?

1. fuel efficient car against the rising fuel prices - best mileage i had is 10 km/l (city driving) while highway driving registered somewhere between 13-14 km/l
2. compact size - very easy to park and maneuver around town
3. parts - they say when its a honda, price of spare parts would be sky high. maybe if you buy them at the dealer. since the city has been here for almost 8 years. a lot of replacement parts are already available.
4. youre ticket to join HCP anyway even if you buy the esi or the lx you can still join

ESi din ako... naka drive ako ng city and its damn shaky when above 80kph. experience this first hand during my test drive in edsa... the interiors are terrible too... pure plastics

I do have an ESi which is scheduled for some major works this summer. I thought of selling it once kahit wala akong problema nito. It is my first car. Last Christmas while nagbakasyon yong pamangkin ko na galing sa Tate -mahilig siya sa drag, and I told him that I'm planning to sell it nalang, he shot back and me and said "Tito, are you nuts?" This is the model from Honda na sarap pagandahin, sabi nya. He in fact suggested to me to replace the current engine which I'm going to do by summer, hopelfully. Kaya nag bago bigla ang isip ko. Of course ESi.

ignorant question po, up to wat year model ba gumawa ang honda ng ESI.. and are these 3 variants(LX, ESI, CITY) pareparehong walang VTEC up to the latest year model?

AFAIK, from 92-95 ang ESI and yes, hindi pa VTEC ang LX and ESI, just not sure kelan naging VTEC ang City.

Given the current price range of the 1st gen City, I'd go for a 96+ LXi.

Both the LX-ESi body Civic and the 1st gen City are prone to rust. But beside that, they're very good cars.

if id go for an ESi.... it better be a 95 model....
although the City 1.3 Exi is fast, fun and more economical, the spartan accomodation turns me off thou.
