I consider it a blessing to 2nd buyers.
thanks ulit sir.. so now torn between a sentra or a civic ef (ano difference nito sa eg?)
wow, dami kong natutunan. salamat sa lahat! dami talagang helpful chaps dito sa tsikot. update ko na lang pag nakakuha na ako.. well medyo matagal pa before my bday hehe. :D
kaya after a long2 time, nakabili na rin ako ng dream car ko, tnx to my dad.

naka sounds set up pa
naka mags na.
malamig pa aircon.
gwapo pa hahaha
at tipid pa sa gas, :D
Kaya nga sabi ko about the EG na work in progress yan. You could buy the unit but may repairs. I've been looking around for an EG before and surprisingly, there are some that sell at 140-150K pure stock. Maghahanap ka nga lang.
I would say nga Sentra is a good car for you. You could even buy an LEC PS 1998 or less in very very good condition.
Forget the Civic EF. It's old and parts are rare ( Ithink? )
Opt for the EG or yet, the EK ( 200k++ )
nagdaan din ako diyan sa "first year and first car"
eto mga tips or suggestion ko bro based from my experience.
1.) go with the best fuel consumption. mas matipid sa gas mas marame kang mapupuntahan, mas marame money sa wallet. trust me been there and still there. suggestion ko, 1st gen vios or 9th gen altis? since na "optimistic 150k" ang budget mu, pwede naman maging "vissionary 250k-300k".
why vios or 9th gen altis?
better FC, not that old, torquey at low rpm range which is good for heavy traffic at the metro,
2.) wag ka na mag suv kung budget ka sa fuel expense. in my case, my first vehicle was a 2003 escape. nak ng p..... 500 ko na pang gas two days lang. im from malabon and sa feu ako nagstudy before (27-40km a day why? may kasama pang gala). araw araw heavy traffic. diyos ko po! i remember those lunch-less days para lang may pang gas. wala nang natira pang gimik.
pero kung afford mu, then go.
3.) avoid hauling people kung naka kotse ka.an average sedan seats 5 peeps, not 7-11 people. yes, 11 people. ive done it once with an average of 5'7, 150lbs blockmates of mine. nagsisisisi ako till now.
feel free to question my post.
my two cents

my first car in my first year of college is a pick up and I can relate sa mga sinasabi mo sir. hehe. nung dati nagpapahuli pa ako sa school kunwari may gagawin ako sa library para lang di sumabay ang mga blockmates ko. and thank God buhay pa naman ang aking first car hanggang ngayon, 4th year na ako ngayon. hehe.![]()
1. medyo tight chief.. sabay kasi kami college ni brad ngayon. saka wala pang budget na binibigay, so i settled for a "modest" 150k.
2. sa gas.. well ok lang since may gas slips si erpats for being in the afp, no problemo :fire:
3. sa 'school bus' thingy, yung pasasakayin ko lang eh yung mga kapit-bahay ko.. since sa south super hway yung college ko medyo mahirap transpo.. sabi nila they'd share the load on gasoline expenses.

When I was in college at UST- Engineering, Cadillac-kad service namin. Di ako makaporma sa mga pretty girls in our school. Kaya study to death ako until I graduated and landed a job. The time nagkakotse ako was after getting a nice job in which I earned well. Regarding fuel consumption of Sentra's, they normally average 8-10 kms/ liter on city driving. My previous experience on Sentra 1.6 ECCS was normally 10 kms/ liter city driving with aircon on, on highway was 12-14 kms/ liter at an average speed of 80-110 km/hour. The usual problem of Sentras is the underchassis (rack end, tie rod), transmission (5th gear slipping), and alternator. With your budget of P150T, try to look for 1996 Nissan Sentra Series 3, 1.6L, manual transmission, preferably below 100T mileage. In your case, suggest to allot a budget for regular maintenance monthly when buying second hand cars. Final advice, study well and seriously so you could earn a college degree. Saka na muna mga barkadas, chikas. Gastos lang mga yan.
