Hi guys, do you want engine rev noises heard inside the cabin or just a quiet atmosphere for your peaceful, relaxed driving. Para sakin mas ok yung na naririnig ko revs![]()

Depends. When driving a 6 banger, I wanna hear it roar. Same when I had a v8. But for smaller cars, a quiet comfy ride is what I want

Idling? No. I don't want to hear engine noise, especially the tak-a-tak-a-tak of a four-cylinder engine.
Accelerating? Yup. I love the deep growl of V6 engines under hard acceleration. V8? Even better. I wasn't exactly fond of the sound my last turbo-4 car made. It has a sort of wheeeee followed by a whoooooosh as the turbo kicked in. If I hadn't seen outside turning into a blur, I'd be totally turned off by the sound. I tried adding one of those fart bottles to deepen the exhaust some. It just sounded obnoxious. Replaced it with a Flowmaster exhaust.

Zero noise on idle...

i prefer silence. except maybe a little purr when accelerating. if i wanted a noisy car i'd be driving one that i can't afford, like a ferrari. anything less is simply pretentious.
pineapple can exhaust anyone?
Quiet engine for me. Plus a little sound when accelerating.

I prefer a quiet ride unless the time I need to push the engine further.

High end (i.e. Mercedes S Class) = Everything should be quiet.
Middle end (i.e Mercedes E Class) = A little (muffled) sound is okay.
Low end (i.e The puny little econobox parked on the driveway) = Mag-rereklamo ka pa ba?
Sorry sir but I have to disagree, yung mga European cars (benz, bwm, audi) maingay compare to those Japanese cars, daming European cars dito sa China and everytime I'm near them, nagtataka ako kng bakit maingay engine nila when idle compare to my Mazda 3, iba ang ingay nila, not the sound of a bigger engine but parang soft rattling sound.

Not all, doc. According to the EPA(Car&Driver confirmed), US Skyactiv Mazda 3 models, which come with the larger, 2.5-liter engine, are rated at 28 mpg city, 39 highway, 32 combined for the sedan and 27/37/31 mpg for the hatchback for automatic models.
25/37/29 mpg for sedans and 26/35/29 mpg for hatchbacks when equipped with the manual.

thread states "when driving"
pag nasa loob ka ba nung car naririnig mo yung engine?
yung ingay sa labas, thats different. For me dapat may ingay talaga mga kotse, para early warning sa pedestrians.
Pero yung loob ng car, the higher the luxury the better the insulation, kaya dapat no engine noise.
Newer Ms have lesser sound deadening, no bonnet insulation....lighter (around 10kg less in some) & better heat dissipation.
