AFAIK, VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) refers to a turbo charger and not a proprietary engine technology like Mitsubishi's DI-D or Toyota's D-4D. Pls. see the wikipedia article on VGT.

The longevity, performance, etc. of both engines are almost equal. The Hyundai CRDi engine though produces more HP per displacement and can be chipped to produce even more. Mitsubishi's Di-D on the other hand is the more proven one.

zaza.altis * VGT is use to eliminate the turbo lag of the engine..as mentioned by mazdamazda Mitsubishi's Di-D on the other hand is the more proven one. Also, adding to that many CRDi engine claim that their engine has the most fuel efficient, but in real world hindi pala.. you can check all the FC's the vehicle you want to purchase. there so many threads here specially the review on fuel consumption.

Well... consider that both the Mitsubishi and the Hyundai 2.5 are based on the venerable Mitsubishi 4D56... Hyundai's CRDi vehicles in the Philippines have proven generally reliable, despite the poor diesel.

Which two vehicles are you picking between?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

As far as i know, Hyundai - Kia diesel engine uses CRDi system by BOSCH... Toyota D4-D system by Denso, dunno for the DI-D of mitsubishi...

Basically, D4D and DI-D and CRDI uses the same principle of common rail and electronic injection..

Robert Bosch Co. is the key player in the development of Common Rail Technology..

"crdi-vgt" is way newer than mitsubishi's "Di-D"..2 generations i think. iba ang "Di-D" sa "Di-D commonrail".. kaya iba power ng nasa 3.5 gen pajero than 3.0gen paj,L200, at the newly released montero sport.

pero kung sa power at power at efficiency lang, lampaso ang Di-D sa crdi-Vgt.. for the same 2.5L block, mas malakas power ng nasa starex than sa strada noh.. layo ng difference, even mas malakas pa sa 3.2L di-d!

the only 2.5L na pumantay sa power ng crdivgt ay yun sa navarra 4wd, a 2nd generation yd25-crdi. pero yung 1st generation non-crdi yd25t found on a 1999 jdm serena produces 150ps*4000 and 280NM*1800 already.(may naliligaw na nito sa local converted market ha)

what more pa pag naglabas ang nissan yung 3.0L version nung commonrail nila na based sa non-crdi zd30, lakas siguro nun.

ka nga kahit matrix or getz or accent crdi vgt lang masaya na ako e...pero 100T prenium than the same sub-compact...
