Pros and Cons... which is better Toyota's D4D (like in the Hilux) or Mitsubishi's DI-D (like in the new Pajero) diesel engine technology?

Curious lang... which has better emissions, which is more powerful, which is more efficient... etc... and why so?

CRDi din ba yung DI-D? Wala batalagang difference, like emissions control mechanism, use of glow plugs, electronic control...

D4D is 180 mega pascal daw. What it means I dont know. Something to do with pressure I think.

    Yung Hilux may intercooler.

Ganda daw ng Mitsu's 4M41, may nabasa pa nga akong "Best in It's Class" ito. Time will tell na lang kung ano ang tumagal sa fuel natin.

Halos sabay sabay lang naman ang mga CRDi's na 'yan +/- a few years. Iba-iba lang talaga ang tawag ng mga companies (marketing terms). Mitsubishi Di-D and Toyota's D4D as well as those from other companies have the same concept. Directly inject the fuel (no prechamber) into the cylinders at an insanely high pressure. That's it. Iba iba lang sa minor details but that is the basic concept.

The Mitsubishi 4m40 3.2Di-D is one of the most powerful engines in its class. It pumps out something like 177 bhp. The 2.5 CRDi of Hyundai makes a respectable 145 bhp (from 99 bhp in non-CRDi form).
