That was around 3 years ago. The new RAV4 base model is just over 1.6M which is around the same price as the mid model Forester with Eyesight.

Unfortunately, the models sold here are unlike the US models.

    bias lng ako sa rav4

203hp bullet.. fastest in class until mawala na yun xt.. a second slower than the cx9 2.5T to 100kph.

dual injection.. it wont have issues of carbon buildup..

more frugal than the cx5 2.5 based on specs..

minimal recalls for the tnga camry.. so there is good R&D for this new generation rav4.

LTD if the discounts are good..as MrBig mentioned already

if the new forester arrives, hope the ph specs are good..i like it too and its very frugal.. but again rav4 will be faster...

In metro manila and most other places in the Philippines fast doesnt really happen. My vote goes to the CR-V. The new RAV-4 looks nice though, but pricey.

It’s really hard to choose tapos if you ask for suggestions lalo gugulo ang mundo mo sa pagpili ng kotse. Haha! But after showing my mom lahat ng CUV pinaka nagustuhan niya yung Forester. It was loaded with features and also has 7 airbags and the price naman I find it not overpriced unlike nga sa Toyota.

What variant of the Forester are you considering?

And this compares to what variant of RAV4?

Both base model ng 2019 Forester and RAV4. I can only stretch my budget to 1.7M rin kasi.

The new RAV4 would have been very competitive if it was priced like its FWD competitors or maybe just a bit more to account for its brand name and its more powerful engine or maybe if the mid and top variants come standard with AWD. The price is already at par with the Sorento which is a class higher and bigger plus it's a diesel.

See below for new RAV4 and Forester pricing. Since you have the budget, I guess you go for the Forester i-L EyeSight model.

    2019 Toyota RAV4 2.5 4x2 LTD - ₱2,188,000

    2019 Toyota RAV4 2.5 4x2 XLE - ₱1,870,000

    2019 Toyota RAV4 2.5 4x2 LE - ₱1,638,000

    2019 Forester i-L non-EyeSight – P1,598,000

    2019 Forester i-L EyeSight – P1,698,000

    2019 Forester i-S EyeSight – P1,798,000

tiingen ko discourage talaga kayo ng Toyota na bumile eh kaya lang baka required ng main Toyota HQ i-offer and model na'to nasa kontrata nila kumbaga for formalities sake

tapos eto kayo isep ng isep kung pano ba magagawan ng paraan eto, nagtatawanan lang mga Toyota execs dito kasi wala naman sila paki kung mabenta nga to, so kape kape na lang unit pag may time.

pag gusto nila talaga makabenta, ginagawa nila affordable, look at Rush halos nana 10000 units kagad

You may never know when you may need it but it’s good to have it when the time comes you need it.

The thing is... you would really never know when you'll need technology like that. Parang life insurance lang, you don't want to ever use it soon but it's good to have one.
