    the tribute do have a stiffer suspension setting. as for the USDM floor mounted shifter, i wasn't even aware that they have that already. I hated the column-mounted shifter on mine, it always got in the way whenever I operated the radio or A/C.

    yep, USDM have floor mounted shifters. i recall about three years already.

    The CX7 is aimed a little higher. It's probably in the Murano size range, and will go up against that car.

    There's supposed to be one coming in a bit lower, based on the Mazda3/Focus, but no word on when it'll be out. That'll be the likely Escape/Tribby replacement.

    Mazda will just drop the Tribute name in favor of the CX-5 name... this will ride on the 2008 Ford Escape's chassis (and engine probably).

    To note, Mazda will also release a CX-9 which is basically a 7-seater CX-7.
