The Evo's bred for rallying. It has supreme maneuverability as well as being very quick off the line. I imagine it's also built to withstand the rigors of dirt-road driving. In short, it's a tough over-engineered car for use on the street.
The Type-R has good performance. But, it's still a street car and isn't quite in the same class as the Evo. It may match up ok against the upcoming Ralliart Lancer. But then the Lancer Ralliart wouldn't be in the same class as the Evo (or STi) either.

Word.
Theoretically, the Civic Type-R's nearest competitor in the Mitsubishi line-up is the Lancer Ralliart. But still that's a FWD + 198hp versus AWD + 240hp.

An obvious mismatch, although the FD2 Civic Type R can beat Evos in certain circuit time attacks (e.g. Suzuka Circuit East)
Why not stick the new GR-series Impreza WRX STi against your Evo X instead?

February 9th, 2008 09:54 PM #6uuhhhh... not a match categorically? EVOs, and STIs are in the higher notch of the food chain.
When I'm still in the states the more popular match of the Civic Si (the Type R version in the U.S), is the Sentra SE-R.. lalo na during the time of the B15, where at a time it even surpassed the Civic Si as the tuner favorite in compacts. That explains the appearance of B15s on video games.

February 9th, 2008 10:29 PM #7i think the TS is trying to compare the newest model civic type-rr(mugen) with 260HP against the latest EVO-X
if thats the case..that two cars might be a closer comparison.even with the civic still having lower HP than the EVO...the civic is alot lighter than the EVO-x so it might actually give the EVO a run for its money.

The new Euro Civic Type-R hatch only makes 201PS...
The "RHD only" JDM Civic Type-R sedan makes 225PS.
Its not in the same class as the Turbocharged AWD Lancer Evo X and Impreza STI, but its quite good for a Naturally-Aspirated FWD car.

...advantage of the Type-R? The drift king Keiichi Tsuchiya is the one behind the wheel!
Too bad if you want a Civic Type-R in the RP, your only option is the Euro version since thats the only one with a LHD variant.Last edited by AG4; February 10th, 2008 at 03:46 AM.

And the Euro version isn't that practical compared to the old Euro Civic Type - R.
I also prefer silver. hindi halata na madumi na and some imperfections like faded color and slight...
