If you need space, a van is a more practical choice. You'd be getting a larger piece of real estate if you went with a van (American or otherwise). Mataas ang profit margins for SUV's at present because lots of people buy them for 'porma'.

May 2nd, 2005 01:22 PM #28I think there's a recall on most Chevy and GMC suvs. I won't go for the Dodge Durango, either. Personally, i don't trust U.S. made vehicles and most Filipinos here in the U.S. drive imports like Japanese or European cars or suvs.Even the high end U.S. made vehicle has more problems compared to a moderately priced import. Best buys? Toyota 4-Runner, Toyota Sequoia, BMW X5, Lexus LX470, M Benz ML350, to name a few.

reliability-wise, IMO from best to worst
1. japs
2. euros
3. koreans
4. US of A
koreans r catching up pretty fast though, some r even on par with euro cars
