Does the image of the car you have or planning to buy affect your decision to buy it?
Yes, it does
No, it doesnt
What's image?
I have no image!

majority of it i guess...im sure the pontiac aztek is a good car but ill go with the hyundai sta fe...man! that thing is ***y!!!
I don't think it's possible to call a Pontiac Aztec a good car.Originally Posted by kimpOy
Just look at the thread on the Chevy Venture since they share the same DNA.
I agree on the Santa Fe being a nice design.
I bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. Image? What image? It's a yawn, but practical.
Sa akin hindi image eh. Kaya Hilander binili ko kasi yung maintenance. Sa Hilander wala pa akong papalitang timing belt, matipid pa sa krudo.
its like choosing a girlfriend. syempre you want it to be flashy, a headturner. but at the same time reliable, won't give you headache.
in a car i could say that:
40% looks
60% reliability
for me, its what my budget/price level i can afford..tapos from there i judge by the image, features etc.. pero i think malaking factor din yung image sa marami kasi marami kang naririnig sa iba na "ay pang taxi!" or "pang-kidnapper" or "pang-babae" etc..
It seems that the Sonata has looks copied from the Accord, but this time, the pirated one is even better.Originally Posted by Jun aka Pekto
Actually, yes, looks matter. For one thing, it's the only aspect why Audi stands a chance in sales. Some of us here probably bought the Mazda 3 because of its appearance alone. Another proof that appearance is important is the fact that many cars are aesthetically modified. You've got those blings, body kits, mags, flashy paint jobs and so on just to look great (well, beside your car).
On the other hand, some Filipinos look at the brand rather than styling. For instance, those ugly-butt series of Honda sedans still got huge acclaim. Owners of these cars prioritized the name and virtually cared nothing about whatever criticism the driver behind them may have.
no, but with one exception - the VW new beetle :flower:
another clarification - i do look at brand when i shop, but not for image. to me, brand signifies reputation (like honda=quality, bmw=performance, etc.) and i use that to set an expectation of what i'm likely to get.
Minsan nasa nagdadala din iyan. hehehe.
Image does matter sometimes. Mas important pa siguro ang 'image' sakin kaysa yung 'prestige' ng sasakyan. Mas ok kung yung image ng sasakyan mo ay tugma din sa personality mo.
E.g. kimpOy and his Strada - both are rough, tough, and ready to roll.

If image is a concern, any car can have a makeover to make it look better, even a mommy car.....

ako total opposite ng dina-drive ko. I'm not into 4x4 pero I'm stuck with a strada for daily ride. I sparingly drive a mini-van if I dont like the punishing ride of a diesel truck. still not me, kasi wala pa naman ako mga anak.
a car is a car, its main purpose is to take you from point A to point B, no more, no less.
car = image? pogi points? nahhh...its all illusion people.
we are talking about, considering the car's image/looks. not how would you look like when you have a car.car = image? pogi points? nahhh...its all illusion ppl.
besides, we don't tolerate 'txt' language here. please feel free to use your keyboard. haven't you read our rules and regulations?
imo, if we talk about a car's image, we usually refer to how it is generally perceived by the public. that's why forums like this (i.e. where you get professional & general consumer feedback) are helpful in aiding a person in his decision to buy a car that is attuned to his expectations...
In that case, people would probably look at our 06 Sonata and think it's an old Honda. I guess that could still be considered a compliment....Originally Posted by slamtaz
