Gas CUV buyers are those folks who want something more comfortable than a compact car but with the added benefit of a bigger cargo area and a higher ground clearance. They would even entertain buying a midsize car but a CUV is more practical. True. My SC parents prefer to ride our CX5 than our Jetta because of 1 reason - ingress and egress.
