FWIW, display units aren't at all as bad than most units that came straight from the factory. If it's any consolation, display units stay inside an air conditioned room for most of its life after manufacturing and is pampered (read: detailed) almost all day, everyday until a buyer gets it off the property. On the other hand, other 'new' units may have sat in the lot under the sun and rain for days, weeks or even a month or two, before they're taken to the dealer to be sold.
The key is to inspect the new vehicle thoroughly before giving them your cash.
