April 16th, 2012 08:35 PM #14sana isolated nga lang ung katok issues... but we can't disregard n meron naman tlgang tinatawag na "factory defect"..it happens most of the time...good thing about it is hindi pa naman nagkakaroon ng mass Recall for Accent, so we'll assume for now isolated pa lang ung case

Having no recalls for the Accent is actually a bad thing. Hyundai just keeps on doing makeshifts in order to show that they are doing something.
Nothing seem to correct the problem. Marami na naging ECU upgrade pero meron pa rin problems such as low power, engine knocking & ridiculously high fuel consumption.
Most likely they won't do a recall, at all. Malamang puro ECU upgrade and other bullshit nalang gagawin ng Hyundai to temporarily repair the problem.
Some are lucky that the problem is fixed by using a different kind of fuel while some doesn't share the same fate.

April 16th, 2012 10:17 PM #17there are certain things that are built or meant for one another. .

Only people who's really into cars, such as us, notice simple mishaps on our vehicles. Some just simply ignore it.
*some even claim that they experienced low-power on several instances

April 16th, 2012 10:55 PM #19Sir Renzo has aleady mentioned most of what I would have said.
But a few things I'd like to comment on:
Uh, baka ayaw lang ni HARI masira yung reputation niya by simply covering up? Maybe they don't even know the solution to the problem (LIKELY)? Doing what Toyota [Unintended Acceleration] and Mitsubishi [Various Manufacturing Defects] did in the past?
You fail to realize the point. The Accent is an ECONO car.
The main selling point of the Econo car class is to maximize space, and minimize operating costs, fuel included. Kung ganun, bilhin mo nalang yung Elantra 1.6MT, in the long run baka mas mura pa yung fuel costs mo sa pag gas ng Unleaded sa Elantra vs Premium sa Accent.
And by the way, pwede parin gumamit ng Win XP sa higher models ng CPU.
Staying on topic:
Let's wait for the Ford Focus. I saw one abroad. It's actually a bit of a looker, even the extended hatch variant.

April 17th, 2012 01:11 AM #20If you want something cool, fast and powerful. sa choices mo panalo talaga c Lancer EX. kaso, its 900K+ ata.
For a first time car, I think practicality and reliability are top priorities for me. I think i'd like something na d hassle masyado imaintain at fuel efficient with the prices of gasoline these days.
So I'd probably pick the City for a first time car with your budget on your comparo. Either City or a Ford Fiesta. I think the Fiesta gives a better package compared to the base Focus.
