hello! I would really appreciate to hear your thoughts about those cars i've mentioned. this will be my first car, i don't really mind driving a 2nd hand but my mother insisted to buy brand new. i am an elementary driver, so test drive would be impossible (i might just buy the car that i test drive because i ruined it). some have said, both are fuel efficient - im convinced. the remaining battle is for comfort, space, and prestige (maybe). my place is 5 minutes away from work, light to moderate traffic.

feed my innocence if you must... does one should consider ones height in buying cars? im an average 5'4'' lady. airconditioning is quite important to me, it must not falter, especially during summer.

thank you in advance for your response... have a great day!

I'll leave the technical specs for those who have more experience with those cars but here's what I know:

At 5"4, you won't have trouble fitting in any of the two cars.

Airconditioning should be no problem between the two cars.

Either way, you probably can't go wrong with either car.

What I don't like about the vios is that it's probably due to be replaced by an entirely new design by 2012.

BTW, this is comparing the automatic variants? Or are you driving a manual?

    Get the Jazz.

The Vios AC is probably slightly better, but with good tints, neither car is terribly hot on a summer's day.

The Jazz has more space, better interior materials, and... more space.

It also drives better. Did I mention the space?

The only thing is that with the AT, the 1.3 doesn't give great fuel economy... it's a small step behind the Vios in terms of fuel economy. This is because the gears are long, which means that you press on the gas more to go the same speed. But since you're a newbie driver, you can condition yourself to drive gently and get the most out of the engine and transmission.

The good thing about the Jazz is the 10,000 km oil change interval. Which means that you'll be spending less time at the dealerships for maintenance.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If you're driving a manual, the vios might suit you best. The soft clutch is really a catch compared to the quite tacky MT Hondas in general. However, if you'll be driving an automatic the Jazz probably is for you. Smaller. Easier to maneuver & to back-up ( cause of the absence of the trunk ) Interior plastics are more intact & more modern-looking, looks are overwhelming and was refined lately.

Prestige, hands down Honda. After-all, what should you expect, you pay to have that title. Comfort is pretty good, the space is really commendable in its class especially if you pull the rear seats down to boot up few things.

Airconditioning wont be a problem in either of the two. They're new. You should expect to have a top-notch quality of whatever you're after at.

One reason that might pull you back from getting the Jazz is that the Vios is really practical. Maintenance is definitely cheaper. But that's about it, parts are most likely equal in terms of abundance, if not the Vios would just probably win by a hairline.

thanks! My first choice was jazz not until this colleague of mine told me that this new vios this very fuel efficient (A/T). My mother told me about Honda maintenance and told me to pick a Toyota, that's why i checked on vios. She's very practical, so I must pick the one which is efficient on petrol, afterall she's paying for this. She's driving a dodge and doesn't care about prestige so i can't weigh it because of thy cars manufacturer... your expertise is a great help, thanks again renzo!

    My vote goes to Jazz!

For me I think it's generally better.

Like as earlier mentioned, easier to back up dahil walang trunk na naka-usli :D

Being an elementary driver with preference for an auto tranny, I'd say get the Jazz.

thank you all! i might just copy all of these and send it to ma. it's a lot different here, than in those right-hand drive countries. i think she'll reconsider buying a honda.

Consider the city na rin if you'd prefer a sedan.

Mechanically, the city's similar to a jazz din. (slightly cheaper too)

Like most of the people here are saying I'd recommend the Jazz as well. Especially since you won't be paying for it. I think the price diff is roughly 90k. Since it will be your only car I'd go with the Jazz. I read on some site that you could fit 2 bikes in there. Either way you can't go wrong. Congrats in advance!

If it is Vios vs Jazz, I think there's a mismatch here. I think any car enthusiast would pick the jazz without hesitating. Why not consider the fiesta? Jazz or Fiesta? Medyo mahihirapan ka na dito at palagay ko sasakit din ang ulo mo sa pagpili.

Tama si aircooled. take driving lessons first. Maybe you can request to drive a vios during your classes. I know they have the ford fiesta also. I dont know if they have a jazz for student drivers. that would be the best deciding factor though.
