IMO I'd have the Lancer EX. It looks really nice especially if you throw in 18 or 19 inchers and perhaps HID bulbs. Its also cheaper than the Civic 2.0S if I'm not mistaken.

    Bakit Lancer EX MX pa?

Discounted naman ang GT-A ngayon diba. Halos ka-price nalang ng Civic 2.0S..

    Honda Civic 1.8S
This is still a good car but a lot of newer cars have been released in the past couple of years. Also Honda Philippines seems to have stripped some stuff from the car so you are getting less and paying more for it. Otherwise, it is a good dependable car that still offers good styling, quick acceleration but average handling. Excellent potential resale value years later.

    Mitsubishi Lancer EX MX 2.0L
Great driver's car with so-so interior (especially the wood interior trim). Powerful engine, silk smooth CVT tranny and capable suspension makes this a great all around driving car either on the highway, mountain roads or city streets. Even at 200kph, you don't feel the speed (aka harsh vibrations) and the only indication will be the slightly louder engine noise and the speedo. Paddle shifters gives great control while trying to push this car's performance limits. Fuel economy is between average to good depending on traffic conditions and driver habits. Only downsides with this car is the cloth seats and the undersized 16inch wheels which does hurt handling/looks but adds good riding comfort.

    Mazda3 2.0R
Although this is long overdue for a replacement (released back in 2004), it is still good value for money. Not the fastest of the group, it still offers good handling and solid build quality. Fuel economy is so-so but better than it's 1.6L variant as the 2.0L is more matched for this chassis weight. Rear seating is not comfortable for long drives.

    Chevrolet Cruze 1.8 LT
It's either you hate or love this car's styling especially with the overly prominent Chevy logo in front. The "LT" variant offers leather interior plus a few more "luxury" items like automatic climate control, rain sensing widers, and auto-dim mirrors. This car seems to offer the best overall packages in the local market including a comfortable ride, good fuel economy, competitive pricing, nice spacious interior. One thing this car is not is quick accelerating as members of the philippine motoring media have commented after test driving this car. (Benchmarked against the Civic 1.8S which has the same power, tranny type and weight as the Cruze 1.8LS). The only major hurdle this car has is it's "CHEVY" brand name which still has a long way to recover from previous disasters of cars like the OPTRA, VENTURE and CAPTIVA where owners found labor and spare parts were expensive and had to wait days to weeks for the ordered parts to become available.

    Go for the Lancer EX!

Maganda lang sa Civic ay yung 1.8 liter variants but not really the 2 liter variant.

The FMC civic will be released late this year. I bet the happy-faced long overdue Mazda 3 will also be released this year.

Honda Civic 2.0s -- Civic FD has been out since 2006. Making this 5 years old.

Mazda 3 2.0R -- uhh... there's already a replacement for it out on the international market since 2009. There's a reason for the discounts.

Lancer EX > Cruze if you're that type that does BEEEEEP at jeeps. Cruze > Lancer EX if you're that type that goes BEEP at jeeps

Buying a brand new car (Civic/LancerEX/Mazda3/Cruze)
