May sumagot na ford agent at last. Wow! As in grabe taas ng interest rate, and built in ang di sa d/p! Total computation shows the wt ends up at 2.16M. Di bale na lang, i am looking for a truck i will enjoy working in, not a truck i will feel guilty using.

Ni-justify nya yung 20% na downpayment na naging 26.8% (6.8% yung di) at yung 31% add-on rate for 3 years term and 41% add-on rate for 4 years term kasi "hot cakes" daw ang ranger.

Banks presently have add-on rates of 15-16% add-on for 3 year terms and 20-22% add-on for 4 year terms. Double ang add-on nila, which means hati sila ng bank! Kaya pala ayaw nila ng cash and bank p.o.

Kaya naging garapal ang mga dealerships ay dahil doon sa mga customers nila na pumapayag dati sa mga D.I. na hinihingi nila. It's good that you didn't go through with your purchase. In 2 years time, pag humina na benta ng ranger. Magbibigay pa ng discounts and freebies yan.

or you can take the discount now, get a bt50 for 69k less (1,559,000 - 1,490,000). I actually was able to get another 26k discount on the d/p. plus the monthly amortization is the same as if i were to make a bank p.o. purchase. yup, they applied the same rate as the bank published rate in their in-house financing, that i made sure about. i even compared it to a discounted bank p.o. purchase quote from my suking pnb bank manager, the difference was only 0.26% add-on over 3 years. e considering that the bank purchase is a full 20% d/p, wala pang free insurance and chattel so really this time mas nakatipid ako sa in-house compared to bank p.o. so kung i-add na sa equation yung cost ng 1st year insurance and chattel mortgage fees, cheaper na yung in-house by as much as 70k (47k insurance + 25k chattel).

paano nangyari? kasi pinaglaban ko yung mga dealers, pababaan sila sagad-sagaran sa price. when they ask "ano yung quote ng..." e i let them know, so ayun habulan sila ng presyo. pag baba ng isa babaan ulit nung kabila, and so on until sagad na talaga. di lang d/p ang bumaba pati monthly.

oo nga pala, my bt50 rolls out of the casa with a free tank full of 80 liters of diesel!

all in all, between the ranger WT 3.2 4x4 a/t and bt50 4x4 a/t, the difference in the cost of ownership will be minimum 420k in 3 years (d/p, di and monthly amort). hindi pa kasama dyan yung savings due to yojin-3 package.

so for the total discount i got (69k + 26K = 95k), and the fact that there is no DI (106k sa ranger 3.2 wt), i can mod all i want. cost of DI na lang e solve na ako! roller lid, projector lens head lights retrofit (no HID, will check first philips or that new 30 watt Cree LED bulb), roof cross bar with 4x20 watts projector LED lamps, and "stealth" LED flood lamp bar inside the grill (in case wala ako makita na nudge bar na maganda where i plan to mount this LED bar) e hindi pa aabot ng 70k!

my wife saw it na. even though i asked her to wait till i get home di na nagpaawat inunahan na ako. she will fetch me at naia next week using the bt50. dedeliver na sana tomorrow, i asked the agent to postpone it till next week at baka ihataw agad ni misis sa nlex.

yebo, roller lid's been reportedly problematic. proceed with caution.
