may plan po bumili family ko ng new car. tanong ko lang po kung ano po sa 3 ang ok bilhin:

- toyota vios 1.3 e
- honda city 1.3 s
- chevrolet aveo sedan 1.4 liter m/t

I'll go with the Toyota Vios just because it looks better than the City.

The City & Vios doesn't have a significant advantage or disadvantage over each other... it all boils down to its looks really.

The Aveo Sedan is also kinda decent... though its only advantage is having airbags & ABS.

Wait for the new City I hope sana malapit na it should be this year. I didn't like the new Vios mas gusto ko pa yung lumang Vios kung tutuusin....

honda city - spaceous daw sabi ng tropa ko pero para kasi di proportion design gusto ko pa ung city type Z

toyota vios - kakaiba din yung out side nya although maganda interior,, di bagay yung taillamps sa head lamp di proportion design much better pa ung naunang design ng vios malakas appeal

Chev Aveo - parang revise optra looks appealing good interior sporty

You might wana consider the Avanza too kasi pasok din yan sa budget and requirements mo....

I would suggest the Vios also, pero for me, you can also consider the Avanza.

sa FC, lamang ng konti ang Vios sa Avanza
ride: lamang ang Vios kaysa sa Avanza
flexibility (people/cargo) lamang ang Avanza
clearance/ride height: lamang ang Avanza
looks: Subjective, pero sa new Vios ako.
maintenance: basically the same
blings, upgrades, accessories: lamang ang avanza :D

i'll go for the new Vios. ganda ng looks nya parang baby camry. at the same time, spaceous narin interior nya.

i don't like yung ride ng city. medyo matagtag for me using yung stock tires and rims nya. for me, mas matagtag pa sya sa ride ng altis namin na naka 17" rim.

In terms of resale value, interior space & safety, wala talaga ako masabi sa Honda-City......ok na ok.......

But in terms of looks/porma, reliability & maintenance sa Toyota-VIOS ako........

FUEL-CONSUMPTION:
By the way.......im City's Fuel Consumption is ....FUll Tank = 623 kilometers (meaning.....623 km / 40 liters capacity === 15.57km/Liter) --> this is City & Highway driving Cainta to Ayala via Ortigas & C5.

Im not sure sa VIOS......baka lampasan pa nya ang City.......balita ko tipid din daw ang VIOS.......

IMHO:

CITY kunin nyo if you are considering fuel efficiency...
ala pa din tatalo sa i-dsi ng honda compared sa old or new vios when it comes to FE/FC. although mas may power DAW yun vios, since family car naman, i don't think na ipangkakarera nyo auto nyo to aspire for more power... at sa traffic ngayon e mababale wala ang power.

if looks: VIOS DAW! pero yun nilabas na vios 08 e parang yung lumang city naman na pudpud yung nguso so ano ba talaga mga fans ng vios??? yung dating city eh sinasabi nyo na pangit KC MAIKLI NGUSO? E pareho na sila ah... haha!
for me KANYA KANYANG TASTE din talaga yan... pwede naman imodify yun exterior ng kotse mas maganda pa!

mas mahal VIOS... at ano ba problema ng toyota at de ikot pa din yun windows ng low end units nila... pang asar talaga! buti nga may hubcubs na din low end nila dati ala pa... at nakakaasar ata yung may makatabi ka sa daan na TAXI na kapareha ng VIOS mo lalo na sa manila.

may CITY ZX (yung facelifted) na kami and yun ate ko will be getting the toyota VIOS 08 naman hinihintay lang namin bumaba pa yun price and still gonna wait for the NEW CITY 08...

at nakakaasar ata yung may makatabi ka sa daan na TAXI na kapareha ng VIOS mo lalo na sa manila.

Wala akong problemn kung may makatabi ako na taxi na same lang sa car ko. Actually advantantage pa nga for me na malalaman ko in the long run kung ano ang magiging problems ko sa future. Grabe ang mga taxi na mag laspag ng sasakyan. For me, parang accelerated life test. I have no problems with "prestige".

So kung taxi na tatakbo for 3 years, five years walang problema, now for me that is reliability. Inaabuso pero di bumibigay.

Toyotas initially uses mineral oils. So talagang 5,000 Km lang ito. Synthetics kasi puwedeng up to 10,000 Km. It has something to do with the oil, not with the car.

Actually, may mga nag aadvocate na not to wait for 5K or 10K to change the oil. Iyong iba ay 3K or 8K lang. It's the oil, not the engine. The more frequent you change the oil, the better for it is for the engine.

Toyota and Honda makes good quality cars. Nasa buyer lang talaga which they prefer. I prefered na Toyota kasi di hamak (for me) na mas maraming spare parts na available almost kahit saan at di lang ito available sa casa. And relatively cheap pa.

Once na tapos na ang warranty, puwedeng puwede na sa sa mga reputable shops. and alam ko na makakabili ako ng parts.

May mga nabasa ako na ayaw nila sa CVT. Kasi pag nasira papalitan ng buo. If I remember correctly nasa 250K to 300K ang damage. Currently, di pa repairable ang CVT sa casa.

Pero pag under warranty, after 3 tries na ayusin, at sira pa rin, papalitan ng buo. :D

I have been driving a Jazz at least 2x a week round trip Pasig - Laguna. Very convenient dalahin. Medyo mahina lang mag accelerate. 1.3 lang kasi. Di ko pa na try sa "sports" mode. lalakas kasi ang consumo. . iDSI ang makina nga pala. Galing mag shift kasi di mo ramdam ang change ng gears unlike sa ibang automatics.

- toyota vios = very reliable, bulletproof undercarriage
- honda city = very fuel efficient, lotsa spacio
- chevrolet aveo sedan = japorms

I'd go for the Vios. Di ko talaga ma-take porma ng City, ang pangit-pangit talaga, ewan ko ba kung saan planeta nang-galing yang City. Yung Aveo naman di pa subok and being a Chevy, siguradong olats yan pagdating sa resale value compared sa Toyota and Honda

Sabi nga nila.... Honda City? Either you love this car or you hate it!.....

That is why we chose the Jazz over the City over a couple of years ago....

I'll get the 2008 Vios 1.3 E in beige! Its quite new, unlike the City which will be phased out in a year or so. Maintenance and parts wise, toyota might have the edge. Fuel consumption wise, both are neck to neck. The City has a more spacious and cavernous trunk, though.
