Based on what i have . I currently drive a 03 Crosswind XUVI. 2.5 liter engine. Maingay, maalog, makupad.

I also have an 96 L300 delivery van ( for my water biz) nung una pino at swabe ang ingay ng makina. malakas din (kaya 30 plus na 5 gal jugs) matipid rin but not as tipid as crosswind. Masira man,mas mauuna masira yung buong sasakyan. hehehe

And finally may naaquire ako na 03 pajero field master a month ago ok naman mejo malakas lumamon kasi matic. Rugged, untamed, but very reliable.

hintayin nyo yung 2.5L CRDi with VGT ng upcoming facelifted Sorento at all new Sedona... with 170 horsepower from just 2.5L dsl engine... mas malakas pa sa kahit anong diesel na nabanggit except sa X5 engine.

well, the newer engines are still the best..crdi's....

pero, since ung suki nating mekaniko di alam yan kalikutin, dun ka muna sa mechanical old reliable engines, 4d56, td42, 2c, 3c, td27, 2L, rb's, etc...

payong kaibigan lang pre, pa adjust mo un valve clearance ng crosswind mo. if you said na since bnew bili mo e hangang ngayon parehas paren... it means nasanay kana sa ingay. pero im sure after running 80T kms, malaki na clearance nyan. Magugulat ka after mo pa adjust un valves e mas tatahimik yang crosswind mo. Mura naman lang ang labor e.

any comment on the Matrix Crdi engine? what is the fuel consumption? Is it true that diesel engines are more expensive to maintain than gas fed engines in the long term?

The engine of the D-MAX (4J-H1) seems to be a good engine. Although I don't own one, friends who own one don't have any complaints with it. Its a bit noisy than the other Diesels but once inside the cabin its quite comfortable.

Diesel engines have really gone a long way since the mid to late 90's. Today we have diesel engines that have the horsepower comparable to compact sedans (stronger even than others) and almost or better fuel mileage. Maybe someday japanese diesel engines will be as good as the german diesel engines.

pajero's 4d56 & 4m40 under powered, but very strong for a Space Gear Delica.
    nissan teraano's td27 under powered
trooper's 4jg2 maingay lalo na sa Manual

Toyota Turbo Diesels new and old models = all I can say is that the Turbo whistle really sounds good. sa sound lang... hindi ibig sabihin sa performance...

Has anyone tried the hyundai crdi engine on the accent sedan?
Mukhang this is a new generation crdi like the one in the tucson. Fuel economy and torque are best in class daw...ewan ko lang sa maintenance kung may issue. Or sa fuel filtration like in the d4-d of toyotas.
