    Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a car within the range of 800-900k. Originally i was planning to get a honda jazz 1.5 A/T but I'm having doubts as to whether its the right choice.

I am looking for a car that doesn't eat too much gas or has very good fuel efficiency and preferably a/t with a comfortable ride.

    Please help!

Fuel efficiency and a/t don't often go together. Especially with small cars, where torque-converter automatics suck lots of gas.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Go with the Jazz bro, kung hindi lang binabaha dito samin yan sana choice ko. Fun to drive and easy to maneuver.

If I had a budget upto 900k, I will get an Altis V rather than a Jazz.

I love the Jazz, I've been wanting the Jazz since the 1st gen facelift, but I've always felt that the Jazz's price is too steep for its features. When they introduced the GE Jazz, i felt it was was priced "reasonably" at P797k -- although medyo natataasan na ako nun since at that time masyado na syang malapit sa Civic V price, but for the exact same car selling at P842k now, wala na sya sa list ko.

The Altis V now sells at P925k, but as Cathy said in the another thread, the discount would make it exactly P900k, the car's features are excellent -- but di ko lang type ang faux wood trims inside.

But I think the Ford Focus 1.8li Trend is a good buy too. Not so sure about its Fuel Consumption though. But get the hatchback if you happen to go Focus.

sorry, I just checked features on the Altis 1.6V and it's not as impressive pala. I thought this one had HID and full leather seats, but sa 2.0 lang pala yun. Cancel my vote on the Altis V.

I suggest you check the Chevy Cruze also. I'm sure makaka-haggle ka pa ng discount on the SRP.

Malamang hindi rin... it's a 1.8-liter A/T car, so expect around 6-7km/li if pure city driving, 8kpl at best.

If FC is really important , then get the City/Jazz/Vios/M2 1.5AT nalang, it will probably get you around 9kpl on the average, 10kpl at best.

Ride Comfort usually goes with bigger cars (I really don't think that any of the subcompacts mentioned gives a good ride comfort), but these bigger cars aren't fuel efficient as the subcompacts. And kung sasabayan pa natin ng performance/responsiveness, lalo kang sasablay with the AT on a low displacement engine -- even on a small car.

Kimospeed, the dual-clutch A/T of the Focus is for the top of the line TDCi model only. Halos P1.19M na po yun.

The best buy for me would be the Ford Focus having the Dual-Clutch Technology... No worries for the A/T Drivers, Very smooth shifting and fuel efficient. (based from Top Gear Mag...)

Have you tried the Lancer EX GLS?

It has a ride that you can't match with the other cars on the market at the same price level.

Toyota Innova for more passenger capacity, better durability and flood wading capability as well as fuel economy.

    Flood wading? Crosswind!

Nothing beats an old school diesel in deep water.

And nothing beats that feeling of your spine being tenderized by the sweet vibrations of diesel... :hysterical:

Hmm... yes but then everyone will feel the spine tingling vibrations caused by the engine as well as those caused by the jittery suspension. And there's the , if not as good as the Crosswind, is actually quite good on floods, I've seen a diesel one going through the flood at D.Tuazon with the water level already fully covering its headlights and it was able to go through the whole stretch without breaking a sweat.

Oops, accidentally erased something, I meant "And there's the slow acceleration and the pathetic 140km/h speed limit"

Yes the Innova may cost more but not by much there's the 2.5J at 858k, 2.5E MT at 968k and if an AT is really needed there's the 978k 2.0E A/T. I believe the extra bucks spent is worth it in the long run. Living in the Philippines means pothole ridden roads and flash floods every now and then especially during the second half of the year. Both of these are the subcompact hatch's mortal enemies. There'll be numerous trips for wheel alignment and Honda's maintenance is very costly. With an MPV, you can ferry three more people in each trip, you can save more on diesel fuel and lesser maintenance bills and there's the feeling of security when crossing floods or bad roads. And with the Innova, fuel mileage is only slightly lower and top speed is not that far off from a 1.5 Vios or a Jazz right?

    Just my 2 cents

Maybe everytime I make caldereta I should put the beef at the top of the hood of the Crosswind. Might be faster to tenderize it that way than a pressure cooker!

Back sa topic, for me i agree w/some tsikoter na the best choice for that budget w/those car options is the honda city 1.5e
But for future purposes baka kailangan ng more space esp. pag may mga trips my vote is for elantra 1.6 (ganda talaga kasi ng exterior design, sooOo WET :D fluidic sculpture state of the art for modern automotive world)
but obviously its a base model siempre its not as exciting as those other cars mentioned.
No doubt honda city 1.5e is the winner!

    CHEERS!

Best car for 800-900k budget
