To make the story short...as I was driving my mom's car home after a double shift, I fell asleep on the wheel but I was lucky that I was at the most right side lane and drifted at such a minimal angle that both right side wheels actually went up the side walk. The humongous jerk I felt suddenly woke me up at about 40 to 50 m/h with both right side wheels riding on the side walk. I gradually slowed down and parked the car to get my composure back...boy was that scary. The lesson I learned...NEVER drive home sleepy...and NEVER drive an A/T again...it was just too BORING. Lucky that the car had no serious damage except for a lost mud gaurd, which was easily replaced and lucky that I made it out without a scratch.

I used to laugh at the notion of drivers falling asleep on the wheel...after that incident...it can happen specially if you are driving an A/T.
^^^ Nah, I bet you still would've fallen asleep even if it was your M/T car you were driving that time.

I've driven my A/T car from Pampanga to Pagudpud without feeling sleepy, yet when I was driving our family car more than a decade ago, a M/T Mits Galant, I fell asleep at the wheel after 15kms because I was tired.

Bottom line: kondisyon ng katawan.
