I get that. Owning is still different. Specially if it is a car you really want. But for a daily driver I really miss the free gas, free service, tires, parts, etc. I guess the perfect setup would be to have a daily driver company car na pang harabas and a nice car you really like that you can take car of, damn the costs.

Secondhand, if you know how to wrench and can get a good one, is often the way to go. My cost per year with what I'm driving now will come out to maybe 20k a year before gas and oil expenses.
20K is pretty awesome. Hard to find good examples from 2nd hand market though. Spent a lot of time looking and often came up empty. For maintenance I still have to rely on my suking grease monkey. Cheap enough here.
