Very nice. The bigger dimensions are very welcome as the current Ertiga is rather cramped compared to the competition.

Definitely gonna see a price increase when it gets launched here vs. the outgoing model, but as long as it's in line with the Xpander/Mobilio/Rush then it should be fine.

You really have to rev it to get it going when you have 7 on board. But even with a lowly APV and 8 people, it actually works quite well. Gearing is often optimized by having short first and second gears. Not as torquey as a diesel, but gets the job done.

These budget MPVs are actually pretty light, just the same weight as a sedan. The BRV S and Xpander GLS both just weigh 1,240 kg. That's 25kg lighter than an Altis 1.6G CVT.

I dont think you ever mashed the accelerators on those corollas. i drove both gens you have and both(cvt and 4at) can do 0-100 in around 10ish secs. really good in bundoks.

Yes, I re-read everything. And I noticed that you've repeatedly singled out GTcervan.

Exhibit A: Kagalingan posted that the BRV had an ugly rear. Ry_Tower, dr.d, and GTcervan all chimed in their opinions relating to the importance of a car's rear aesthetics.











Who did you call out? GTcervan, even if his point made sense.





He cited the Montero as an example that a vehicle with an unsightly rear (this is a common opinion shared by many btw) can still be a best-seller, which supports his opinion that the design of a car's rear isn't really a dealbreaker.

I wouldn't classify this series of exchanges as OT, because it was made in the context of a comment on the BRV's rear design. Also, no personal attacks were made. I'd like to think that you have sufficient reading comprehension to understand the connection between these posts.

Everyone here tolerates your opinion when you say that the Xpander looks best and that the Rush and BRV are awkward because of their SUV pretentions. I hope that you can also accept that not everyone is as enamored with Mitsubishi's MPV as you are.

Compare a CRV and BRV. Length and height are similar, but the BRV is narrower by 5 inches. Even the Xpander which is already the biggest in its class is actually 2" narrower than a Civic. Heck, the Rush is actually narrower than even the tiny Miata!

Based on the other thread, it seems that only the Rush will offer LED headlamps and side airbags in this segment.

Toyota is actually class-leading in terms of features. It also has the traction control and hill start assist of the GLS Sport Xpander.
