Dual SRS Airbags: Driver & Front Passenger | (sorry can't find any info regarding the Accent's Airbags)

Based on specs, the Amaze seems to have better power-to-weight ratio which should translate to savings on the gas pump. My experience too with the 1.3 engine of Honda, is it's not choosy on the gas you fill her up, unlike on the Accent which had that engine knocking problem.

If size is a concern, go for the Accent. It is a class higher than the Amaze.

There were some engine knocking concerns on the 1.4L engine of the Accent but I guess that may have been resolved already.

The problem with the 1.4 Accent was with the Gamma engine. The current one uses the updated Kappa engine.

Unfortunately, the E model you're looking at has no airbags or ABS. Must-haves, if you ask me.

Ok... I thought that was an error on Hyundai's website...

I can live without EBD, but ABS and Airbags is a must...

The Amaze is definitely the better spec'd car and most likely also the better engineered car, but it is also the smaller car and, for me, the uglier car. I suggest you visit both at the showroom with family before you make a decision.

Personally, I have no issue with not having airbags and ABS. For me, these are nice-to-haves that are still secondary to safe and defensive driving, wearing your seatbelt and having a set of good tires. Most, if not all of us here of driving age have grown up with cars without such safety features and are still here to talk about it. :D

Actually, the car is for my daughter...

I used to drive without a seatbelt... And yes, still here...

But my PDA (then, hahaha) can only play music and basically useless while driving...

I guess things are different now...

How about a Mirage? or a Swift?

I honestly love both... Especially the Swift.

    But we need the trunk.

Mirage G4 (653,000)? Price difference is too little against the Amaze.

My colleague who uses the G4 mentioned that accessories wise, the G4 is better... BUT I really trust the Amaze's engine (same as the previous gen Jazz) which I cannot say the same for the Mirage's 1.2L 3 cylinder engine.

I actually trust the Mitsubishi 1.2.

My only worry would be about the long-term durability of the CVT, as well as the rest of the hardware.

The Brio is on the small side... masikip, actually, but I feel like the 1.3 liter engine and the 5AT are tried and proven, and I like the attention to detail Honda has paid in the engine department... with the full-sized radiator and twin fans. Can't prove it, but I feel it will hold up longer than some of these newer systems with more lightweight radiators and single fan setups... at least you have a back-up in case one fan fails.

If the girl is driving alone most of the time... the Brio hatch is a better deal. Zippy. Cute. Definitely a good car for a single girl.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
